  • Junior Galette: Works out for Cleveland

Galette is working out for the Browns on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Galette reporderly turned down offers from the Raiders and Redskins this season, and will now attempt to come to terms on a deal with the Browns. The 30-year-old could be of use to Cleveland's defense as a source of veteran experience.

  • Junior Galette: Works out for Rams

Galette worked out for the Rams on Sunday.

After the Redskins elected to not re-sign Galette this offseason, the linebacker contemplated retirement. However, with this workout for the Rams, it's apparent that Galette is still getting some interest from NFL teams and that he still has some interest in playing this season.

  • Junior Galette: Contemplating retirement

Galette announced via his personal Instagram account that he's contemplating retirement.

After missing the 2015 and 2016 seasons due to Achilles injuries, Galette showed he still has something left in the tank in 2017, cranking out 20 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in 16 games with Washington. The Redskins let him walk in free agency earlier this offseason, but the 30-year-old veteran claims he has three contract offers on the table and is simply taking his time deciding his future. It wouldn't be a surprise if he waited until training camp to join a team, should he decide to continue playing.

  • Junior Galette: Done in Washington

The Redskins informed Galette on Monday he won't be re-signed for the 2018 season, The Washington Post reports.

Galette spent the last three seasons in Washington but was unable to see game action until 2017 after sustaining a pair of Achilles' tears during his first two training camps with the team. The veteran linebacker played all 16 games in a rotational role for the Redskins last season, recording 20 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. Galette -- who turns 30 on Tuesday -- is unlikely to see much in the form of contracts with multi-year guarantees given his injury history.

  • Redskins' Junior Galette: Expected to sign elsewhere in free agency

Galette said last week in a radio appearance with 106.7 The Fan Washington that he doesn't expect the Redskins to re-sign him when he becomes a free agent at the start of the new league year, Scott Allen of The Washington Post reports."I haven't spoken to [the Washington front office] personally," Galette said. "But speaking to my agent, Drew Rosenhaus...he just basically said they're pretty much gonna let me test free agency, because I'm pretty sure that if it was the other way around, I think they would have offered me a deal and nothing has been offered. There's nothing else left for me to believe but they want me to test free agency."

Galette has spent each of the past three seasons with Washington, though he didn't make his team debut until 2017 after suffering Achilles' tears in his first two training camps. The 29-year-old was forced to settle for a part-time role upon returning to action for all 16 games last season, finishing with 20 tackles (14 solo) and three sacks. Though he has a pair of double-digit sack campaigns on his career ledger, Galette's injury history and advancing age may make it difficult for him to secure more than a one-year guaranteed commitment from a team in free agency this offseason.

  • Redskins' Junior Galette: Returns to practice

Galette (hamstring) was an active participant during Wednesday's practice, Mike Jones of The Washington Post reports.

Galette's appearance at practice Wednesday bodes well for his availability for the season opener. The Redskins hope Galette can be a significant piece to their defensive puzzle this season, so it would not be surprising if they keep Galette limited throughout the remainder of the preseason.

  • Redskins' Junior Galette: Sitting out Saturday's tilt

Galette (hamstring) won't play in Saturday's preseason game against Green Bay, Master Tesfatsion of The Washington Post reports.

Galette returned to practice Wednesday in a limited fashion after missing just over a week of time due to his hamstring injury. Though he's improving, Washington likely doesn't want to risk the health of the oft-injured backup in a preseason game.

Galette (hamstring) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday, Mike Jones of The Washington Post reports.

Galette's status for Saturday's preseason game remains up in the air. For the most part, Galette seems to be penciled into a roster spot but a lot can change based on preseason performances. Galette's progression seems to be trending upward.

  • Redskins' Junior Galette: No go for preseason opener

Galette (hamstring) won't play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Ravens, ESPN's John Keim reports.

The Redskins are hoping Galette's hamstring issue is a minor one, especially since they haven't gotten much of a return on the player who's missed most of the past two seasons due to a pair of Achilles' injuries. His next chance to taste preseason action will come Aug. 19 against the Packers.

  • Redskins' Junior Galette: No restrictions in training camp

Galette (Achilles) will not be under any restrictions as training camp gets underway, JP Finlay of CSNMA reports.

Galette has missed the majority of the past two seasons with Achilles injuries but finally appears to be healthy entering training camp. He projects to be among the Redskins' best pass rushers off the edge if his health is not an issue. The 29-year-old recorded 10 sacks and three forced fumbles in his last healthy season for the Saints in 2014.

  • Redskins' Junior Galette: Inching toward comeback

Galette (Achilles) is getting closer to returning to full strength, John Keim on ESPN.com reports. "He's got a little ways to go," head coach Jay Gruden noted, "but you can see that he's got the quick twitch, which you really need off the edge."

Gruden and the Redskins are hoping Galette can make a full comeback after missing the majority of the past two seasons with Achilles injuries. When healthy, Galette represents Washington's best pass rusher of the edge, but the team isn't afraid to patiently wait for the 29-year-old to get to that point. Preston Smith got the starting reps last week during OTAs but they also have second-round pick Ryan Anderson and Trent Murphy, who is suspended for the first four games of the season. All this considered, it appears the Redskins will run strongside linebacker by committee this year, which will hopefully include Galette at some point.

  • Redskins' Junior Galette: Limited during OTAs

Galette (Achilles) will be eased back into action during OTAs, Stephen Czarda of Redskins.com reports.

Galette will be limited during the Redskins' OTAs next week and likely held out of the team portions, according to coach Jay Gruden. The oustide linebacker has suffered Achilles' tears in back-to-back offseasons, so it makes sense for Washington to proceed with extreme caution this time around. The best-case scenario for Galette would be coming into training as a full participant later this summer.
