VIDEO: Current, former NFLers attend broadcast boot camp

Last week in Mt. Laurel, N.J., the headquarters of NFL Films, more than 20 players and former players attended a broadcast boot camp, where they attempted to determine if they had what it took to succeed in the next phase of their lives.

Last week in Mt. Laurel, N.J., the headquarters of NFL Films, more than 20 players and former players attended a broadcast boot camp, where they attempted to determine if they had what it took to succeed in the next phase of their lives. In other words, were they any good as broadcasters?

As SBNation writes, former Patriots receiver Troy Brown and former Packers tackle Mark Tauscher apparently were, winning a one-game job as studio analysts with one of the NFL UK partners. Lions receiver Nate Burleson and Broncos tight end Joel Dreessen also had strong appearances, and they will co-host a show on Sirius XM NFL radio this year.

About 20 former and current players were chosen to attend this year’s version of the boot camp, and you can get a taste of what they went through in the video below.

Working as a broadcaster might not be as high-profile as playing in the NFL (or sports writing, for that matter), but it, of course, beats digging ditches when your playing career is finished.
