The top two in our Rookie Power Rankings held steady, but the Chargers' Rashawn Slater made a leap up the board to No. 3 after an impressive showing against Myles Garrett. The bottom of the list was uninspiring, but that should only create competition in the coming weeks. Saints linebacker Pete Werner, Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips and Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney have shown improvement but the most impressive performance was across the pond. Jets interior offensive guard Alijah Vera-Tucker delivered one of the most dominant single game performances of the year. If these standout performances align with consistency, they will be on the list in short order.

We will be tracking rookie performers each week of the season and identifying those who stood out. Without further ado, the cumulative regular season rookie rankings as we head into Week 6:

Week 6 Rookie Rankings
1
Ja'Marr Chase Cincinnati Bengals WR
What more can be said about Chase? In Justin Jefferson's first five games last season, he had 19 receptions for 371 yards and one touchdown. Chase has 23 receptions for 456 yards and five touchdowns. As a rookie, Randy Moss had 69 receptions for 1,313 yards and 17 touchdowns. Chase is on pace to shatter those numbers.
2
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah Cleveland Browns OLB
Owusu-Koramoah is a high energy player who is capable of covering running backs and tight ends or evading block attempts to fill a gap. He suffered a throat contusion during the Browns' loss to the Chargers; potentially in the first half when he took a knee to the back of the head.
3
Rashawn Slater Los Angeles Chargers OT
Myles Garrett had Justin Herbert at arm's length three or four times, but it resulted in just one sack on a spin move that Slater had stoned earlier in the game. Brandon Staley took some of the heat off the rookie by sideswiping Garrett with a running back or muddying the waters with one or two tight ends on that side. Slater held his own when on an island though. He rises to No. 3 from the No. 9 spot last week.
4
Micah Parsons Dallas Cowboys OLB
Parsons is transitioning back to the position he was drafted to play rather than edge rusher. Parsons offers the ability to play multiple positions and that carries a lot of value.
5
Odafe Oweh Baltimore Ravens OLB
Oweh recorded his third sack of the season on Monday night. He continues to show quick twitch and an ability to get in the backfield.
6
DeVonta Smith Philadelphia Eagles WR
Smith had a good game that could have been much bigger. The rookie was running a go route in the third quarter and threw up his hands to signal that he was open. He was even with two defenders, meaning that he was leaving. He had a step on them moments later, but Jalen Hurts elected to make a late throw to Zach Ertz on a rail route. It hung for so long that Donte Jackson peeled off Smith and came back to make the interception.
7
Creed Humphrey Kansas City Chiefs C
The offensive line has improved but the team around them has crumbled. Humphrey has been a rock at the center of that unit.
8
Rondale Moore Arizona Cardinals WR
Moore is moved all over the formation to optimize his ability to make defenders miss in space. He made a fantastic catch contorting his body and getting his feet down inbounds. The Cardinals' Week 5 win over the 49ers was a great example of how versatile the Purdue product can be if used properly.
9
Trey Smith Kansas City Chiefs OG
Smith, along with Humphrey, would be on the all-rookie team right now. For Kansas City to get two of the top 10 rookies without spending a first round pick, it says a lot about the team's inclination to take advantage of a situation.
10
Nate Hobbs Las Vegas Raiders CB
Despite all that is happening in Las Vegas, the Raiders appear to have found a few young pieces to that secondary. Trevon Moehrig has been much improved in recent weeks to go along with the steady play of Hobbs in various roles.
11
Mac Jones New England Patriots QB
Mac Jones was credited with throwing one interception but he should have had two, and possibly three. Terrence Mitchell had one in his hands and dropped it. Jones has done what has been asked of him this season. There is a misconception that every rookie quarterback needs to come into the league and dominate from Day 1 because that happened recently with Baker Mayfield, Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert. The current rookie class is an indicator of how difficult that truly is.
12
Michael Carter II New York Jets CB
Expectations were low for the Jets defense coming into the season, especially following the injury to Carl Lawson. They have found unexpected contributors in Quincy Williams and Carter. There are reasons to be optimistic about what Robert Saleh can accomplish. Carter had a fumble recovery in London.
13
Samuel Cosmi Washington Football Team OT
Cosmi left the game with an injury so he could fall from this list next week but the Texas product has been one of the most consistent rookie linemen this season.
14
Kyle Pitts Atlanta Falcons TE
Pitts had to travel all the way to London to have his breakout game. There are times where it looks like he is going for a stroll because he is just so naturally gifted. Without Calvin Ridley, he stepped up for the Atlanta offense snaring nine passes for 119 yards and one touchdown.
15
Asante Samuel Jr. Los Angeles Chargers CB
Samuel went over the back of a Browns receiver for an attempted deflection but failed to convert and missed the tackle, which led to a big gain. It was not his best day at the office.
