Jets' trade for Panthers T Jeff Otah is off

The Jets were hoping Jeff Otah could solidify the right tackle position, but the trade has been called off.

The Jets' trade for T Jeff Otah is off, the Jets and Panthers confirmed on Tuesday. The Jets originally agreed to trade with the Panthers for an undisclosed, conditional draft pick. Otah, who has a knee issue and who has played only four games in the last two years, failed his physical prior to training camp.

This leaves the Jets with RT Wayne Hunter, who the organization is uncomfortable having in a starting role following his disappointing 2011 season.

The Jets will continue to look for someone to bring in who can compete with Hunter.
