The Jaguars have two preseason games left to determine their final 53-man roster. Veteran WR Lee Evans is one somewhat-surprising cut that has already been made, but there aren't likely to be any more surprises in the next week. However, several veterans who were once thought to be potential starters could be on the chopping block.

Here's a look at who has a lot left to prove as the preseason winds down.

  • George Selvie (DE, 27 career NFL games) -- Over the offseason, Selvie was thought to be a potential starting DE opposite of veteran Jeremy Mincey. Second-round draft pick Andre Branch has been impressive in camp and has made Selvie expendable. Despite their injury problems, Austen Lane and John Chick also might be higher in the pecking order than Selvie, who has been virtually non-existent in two preseason games.

  • Zach Miller (TE, 45 career receptions for 470 yards) -- He was thought to be a safe bet as the No. 2 TE on the roster, but injuries have again derailed him. He missed much of 2011 with a shoulder injury, and now he's out for the 2012 preseason with a hamstring issue. Marcedes Lewis is the starter, and Colin Cloherty and Matt Veldman have showed flashes in camp.

  • Mike Thomas (WR, 158 career receptions for 1,688 yards) -- He's probably going to make it, but he shouldn't take anything for granted in the last two preseason games. After Thomas posted career-low numbers in 2011, the Jaguars went out and got Justin Blackmon and Laurent Robinson to boost the passing game. He could be No. 3 behind those two, but WRs Cecil Shorts, Brian Robiskie, Mike Brown and Kevin Elliott have all had good camps. Thomas has been inconsistent in camp, but four receptions for 89 yards in the first preseason game helped his cause.
