By the fourth quarter on Sunday, there was nothing to smile about for Buffalo WR T.J. Graham or any of the Bills. The 49ers beat them 45-3 in San Francisco. (US Presswire)

It didn’t take long for Bills DT Kyle Williams to sum things up after Sunday’s blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

“It stinks right now,” Williams said from Arizona in a conference call with members of the Buffalo media. “We’ve stunk the past few weeks.”

Indeed, the Bills are heading into crisis mode after back-to-back blowout defeats. In Week 4, the Bills fell to the rival New England Patriots 52-28. It was even worse in Week 5, where another second-half collapse led to a 45-3 loss to the 49ers. The Bills set a franchise low for yards allowed in the loss to the 49ers (621) and gave up more than 500 yards of offense in back-to-back games for the first time in team history.

“We’re upset, we’re ticked off,” C Eric Wood said. “[It's] unbelievable the records we’re setting. We’re breaking National Football League records. How long has the game been around? We’re just laying an egg right now.”

With the Bills’ season on the brink, Wood and Williams each said that several players spoke up after the loss to the 49ers in an effort to right the ship.

“Some people said some things after the game yesterday, really spoke up and called some people out -- maybe not individually, but called us all out as players -- and I think there will be a lot of little talks like that this week, keeping people’s confidence high and really making people look at themselves and figure out what they’re doing, what they can be doing to help the team,” Wood said. “I don’t know that there will be a sit-down, full-team meeting, but every time I sit down with a group of guys or when we sit down for meals and stuff, people are talking and that needs to happen right now.”

Mark Anderson’s status uncertain: Coach Chan Gailey told reporters in Arizona that DE Mark Anderson underwent an MRI after suffering a knee injury Sunday but the extent of the damage is not yet known. Anderson was injured late in the fourth quarter.

OL injuries adding up: The Bills continue to be shorthanded along the offensive line. LT Cordy Glenn (ankle) and RG Kraig Urbik (ankle), two starters, missed Sunday’s game and are not expected to return this week. Urbik’s replacement, Chad Rinehart, left Sunday’s game with a calf injury and Rinehart’s replacement, Colin Brown, left with a hamstring injury. That forced backup RT Sam Young into the game at RG. Brown is out for this week but Gailey said Rinehart has a “decent chance” of returning in time for Sunday.

“I hate to use a drastic word, but we’re depleted there for sure,” Gailey said. “That was one of the strengths we felt going into the season and right now we have three guys that are out. We’ll see about Rinehart. That may be the fourth guy out. We will have to mix and match and do the best job we can there.”

Bradham might take over at SLB: Rookie LB Nigel Bradham saw an increase in reps at SLB in place of Arthur Moats against San Francisco, and it looks as if he might be jumping ahead of Moats on the depth chart. Asked if Bradham might be in line to start against Arizona, Gailey replied: “He might be. We’ll wait and see till the end of the week, but he might be.”
