Ariza will be waived so the Lakers can add a younger player, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The veteran appeared in just 24 games for the Lakers, averaging 4.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 19.3 minutes. With the team out of playoff contention, he likely wasn't going to see more playing time, so the organization will opt to get a look at some younger players.... See More ... See Less

Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Set to start Thursday
Ariza will start in Thursday's contest against the Jazz, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Ariza will make his 10th start of the season as he will replace Austin Reaves from the starting lineup. In his previous starts this season, he is averaging 2.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 19.4 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Back to bench
Ariza will come off the bench Tuesday against the Mavericks. Ariza has been in and out of the starting five, and he'll play a reserve role Tuesday. While coming off the bench this season, he's averaged 4.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.3 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Rejoins starting lineup
Ariza is starting Friday's game against the Clippers, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports. Ariza came off the bench in each of the final two games prior to the All-Star break, but he'll rejoin the starting lineup while Stanley Johnson comes off the bench. Across eight starts this year, Ariza has averaged 3.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 20.6 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Coming off bench
Ariza will come off the bench Saturday against the Warriors, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. After a two-game stint with the starters, Ariza will resume a bench role. In his past five games as a reserve, he's averaged 6.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 20.4 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Plays season-high 35 minutes
Ariza supplied 11 points (3-9 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block in 35 minutes during Saturday's 122-115 overtime victory over New York. Ariza played more minutes than both Russell Westbrook and Stanley Johnson, who both started the contest. The veteran forward was largely inefficient from the field but was still able to score in double figures for just the second time this season. He also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and tied his season high with three assists. The absence of Carmelo Anthony (hamstring) and the game going into overtime likely inflated Ariza's stats a tad, but either way, he's still a player worth monitoring moving forward due to his trust with LeBron James and the Lakers' coaching staff.... Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Cast out of rotation
Ariza (coach's decision) didn't play Tuesday in the Lakers' 106-96 win over the Nets. Though it was Stanley Johnson who unseated him as the Lakers' starting power forward Tuesday, Ariza's minutes (and Dwight Howard's) were mostly diverted to Anthony Davis (knee), who logged 25 as Los Angeles' starting center in return from a 17-game absence. Ariza's move from the starting five to outside of the rotation isn't unjustified, as he had posted lowly averages of 2.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.8 minutes per game while shooting an abysmal 25 percent from the field. The 36-year-old forward's time in the NBA looks to be nearing an end.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Coming off bench
Ariza will come off the bench Tuesday against the Nets, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports. Ariza has started five of the past six games, but he'll come off the bench with Stanley Johnson moving back into the starting five and Anthony Davis (knee) making his return at center. As a reserve this season, Ariza is averaging 4.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 16.9 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Fails in loss
Ariza ended with zero points (0-5 FG, 0-5 3Pt) and five rebounds over 15 minutes during Sunday's 113-107 loss to the Heat. He also had four turnovers. Ariza was a main culprit in the Lakers' lowly 27.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc as a team. Ariza has gone scoreless in four out of 10 January contests, failing to hit double-digit scoring in any of them. He remains off of fantasy radar.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Back with first unit
Ariza is starting Monday's game against the Jazz, Kyle Goon of The Orange County Register reports. Ariza came off the bench Saturday against the Nuggets, finishing with nine points, three boards and three dimes in 21 minutes. His effort was evidently enough to give him another shot with the first unit, bumping Malik Monk to a bench role.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Rejoins starting lineup
Ariza will start Wednesday's game at Sacramento, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. Ariza has primarily come off the bench but will make his second start of the season Wednesday. He's averaging 3.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 16.6 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Coming off bench Friday
Ariza isn't starting Friday's game against Atlanta, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Ariza made his first start of the season in Tuesday's win over the Kings. However, Stanley Johnson will draw the start Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Starting Tuesday
Ariza will start Tuesday's matchup against the Kings, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. Ariza, in just his fifth appearance this season, gets the nod at power forward. In his four games, he's averaged 5.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 17.5 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Available Friday
Ariza (COVID-19 protocols) is available for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports. Ariza was questionable for Friday's matchup due to "return to competition reconditioning," but he'll be able to return following a four-game absence. He could be on a minutes restriction against the Trail Blazers.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Could play Friday
Ariza (COVID-19 protocols) is questionable Friday against the Trail Blazers due to return to competition reconditioning, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Ariza has missed the past four games due to protocols. If he returns, he could be on a minutes limit. The veteran has appeared in just two games this season, totaling 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Enters health and safety protocols
Ariza (ankle) was placed in the league's health and safety protocols Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Ariza was probable ahead of Thursday's game against the Spurs due to an ankle injury, but he'll now be unavailable due to the league's health and safety protocols. Jemerrio Jones could see a slight uptick in playing time in Ariza's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Probable for Thursday
Ariza (ankle) is listed as probable for Thursday's matchup with the Spurs. Ariza saw a slight uptick in minutes in his second appearance of the season following the extended absence, and barring any setbacks, he should be available for Thursday's game. The veteran totaled 12 points, five rebounds and a steal in Tuesday's loss to the Suns, and he should continue to see his workload grow moving forward as long as he can stay healthy.... See More ... Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Nearly perfect shooting
Ariza accumulated 12 points (4-4 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and one steal across 21 minutes during Tuesday's 108-90 loss to the Suns. Ariza came off the bench once again and looked impressive in terms of efficiency, missing just one free throw and also contributing on defense. It wouldn't be shocking if the veteran forward enters into the starting lineup once he gets a few more games under his belt, but as of now, his upside will be capped considering his minutes off the bench are limited.... Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Probable vs. Phoenix
Ariza (ankle) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Suns, Bill Oram of The Athletic reports. Ariza is likely on the injury report as a precaution after making his season debut Sunday. Expect the Lakers to continue to watch his minutes closely, assuming he's cleared to play prior to tipoff.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Trevor Ariza: Makes season debut
Ariza (ankle) played 15 minutes in Sunday's 115-110 loss to the Bulls, finishing with three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two assists and one rebound. Ariza was cleared to make his season debut in Chicago, with his return a welcome development for a Lakers squad that was without eight players due to either injury or COVID-19 health and safety protocols. He may have an opportunity to pick up some more minutes during the upcoming week until the Lakers get some more bodies back in the mix, but at this stage, Ariza is only worth a look in very deep leagues....
