  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Encouraging performance Friday

Johnson closed with 10 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, four assists and one steal in 13 minutes during Friday's 130-122 victory over the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Johnson played just 13 minutes but put together an encouraging performance. Despite his role shifting from one game to the next, Johnson has flashed enough to try and convince the coaching staff that he is ready to step into a larger role moving forward. Peeking into next season, he is definitely a name to watch should he shift up in the rotation.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Intriguing performance Friday

Johnson provided six points (3-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals over 20 minutes during Friday's 136-131 overtime loss to Philadelphia. Johnson made the most of his limited minutes once again Friday, continuing to press his claims for more playing time. He has stepped things up over the past week, and there is certainly a case to be made for him starting over De'Andre Hunter. While this does feel unlikely, it is something to monitor for the remainder of this season and heading into the 2023-24 campaign.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Thrives in bench role again

Johnson tallied 16 points (7-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds and two assists across 23 minutes in Wednesday's 134-116 win over the Wizards. Though he came up empty in the defensive categories after a three-steal, one-block performance in Tuesday's win over the Bulls, Johnson scored exactly 16 points for the second night in a row. The second-year player appears to have firmly taken hold of a regular role on the second unit as the postseason approaches, and Johnson could see his minutes climb in the Hawks' remaining two regular-season contests if De'Andre Hunter (knee) continues to sit and if head coach Quin Snyder elects to rest starting power forward John Collins.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Fuels blowout victory

Johnson supplied a career-high 16 points (7-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 123-105 victory over the Bulls. Johnson's performance joined five other Hawks with double-digit scoring, as Atlanta outperformed a typically stout Chicago defense despite Trae Young (illness) being out. Johnson could be on track for a slight uptick in playing time moving forward, especially with De'Andre Hunter (knee) still out.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Decent showing off bench

Johnson recorded five points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), four rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 19 minutes during Sunday's 132-130 overtime win over the Mavericks. Johnson didn't turn in an eye-popping stat line, but he contributed in multiple categories and recorded his first block and steal since March 13 after missing time with a hamstring strain. He'll continue to serve as the primary backup at power forward and should see regular minutes down the stretch of the regular season as the Hawks prepare for the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Makes return from hamstring injury

Johnson (hamstring) recorded six points (2-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and two assists across 14 minutes in Friday's 124-107 loss to the Nets. Playing for the first time since March 13 after missing seven straight games with a left hamstring strain, Johnson was plugged back into the rotation as the main backup for starting power forward John Collins. At 38-39 on the season following Friday's loss, the Hawks are virtually locked into the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament at this stage, which could prompt head coach Quin Snyder to rest key starters or limit their minutes over the final week of the season. If that's the case, Johnson could see an expanded role over the Hawks' final five games.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Available Friday

Johnson (hamstring) is available Friday against the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Johnson missed the last seven games due to his hamstring issue, but he'll be back in action Friday after initially being listed as questionable. He's averaged 15.3 minutes per game over seven appearances in March, but it wouldn't be surprising to see his playing time monitored against Brooklyn.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Out at least another week

Johnson will be re-evaluated in a week after he underwent an MRI on Monday and was diagnosed with a mild hamstring and groin strain, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Johnson has missed the last two games due to injury and should be out for at least four more matchups after receiving his updated diagnosis Monday. AJ Griffin should continue to see increased run in Johnson's absence.

Johnson (hamstring) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Spurs, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports. • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Questionable Sunday

Johnson (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Spurs, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Will sit out Friday

Johnson (hamstring) won't suit up for Friday's game versus the Warriors. Johnson took part in Friday's shootaround, but it appears his hamstring didn't fare well enough for him to suit up for the evening contest. Instead, he'll turn toward Sunday's matchup in San Antonio for his next opportunity to take the floor. Saddiq Bey and AJ Griffin are among the candidates to take on some of Johnson's bench minutes.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Present for shootaround

Johnson (hamstring) participated in Friday's shootaround, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. Johnson is probable for Friday's matchup against Golden State, so it isn't very surprising to see him at the team's morning shootaround. As long as he feels good afterward, he'll likely be able to suit up for Friday's game.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Probable Friday

Johnson is probable for Friday's game against the Warriors due to left hamstring tightness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Johnson has had a limited role off the bench recently, averaging 4.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game over his last five appearances. Despite his hamstring issue, it appears likely that he'll be able to suit up against Golden State.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Scores in double figures

Johnson finished with 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes during Wednesday's 122-120 win over the Wizards. The sophomore forward's workload has fluctuated recently, and his role in the offense is relatively minimal. However, Johnson popped for 10 points in 19 minutes Wednesday -- his first time reaching double-digit points since Feb. 4. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much out of Johnson unless John Collins or Saddiq Bey suffer injuries.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Offers very little in loss

Johnson finished with three points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT) and six rebounds in 15 minutes during Monday's 111-100 loss to Chicago. Johnson saw at least 15 minutes for the first time in over a week, but he ended with a disappointing performance. While he has shown flashes this season, Johnson has scored in double-digits only six times and currently sits well outside the top 150 in standard formats. His long-term prospects remain intriguing, but he should not be on anyone's fantasy radar for now.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Pours in nine points during rally

Johnson notched 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, one block and two steals across 15 minutes during Sunday's 112-108 win over the Clippers. Most of Johnson's 13 points came during Atlanta's late rally to get the lead back. Johnson was almost flawless in only 15 minutes of playing time, nailing all but one of his shot attempts. The return of De'Andre Hunter will continue to affect Johnson's playing time, but he will play a key role in the second unit moving forward.

  • Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Good to go Wednesday

Johnson (foot) will be available for Wednesday's game versus the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Johnson should resume his duties as a significant frontcourt contributor for the Hawks off the bench. With Clint Capela (calf) out again, Johnson could see additional run again Wednesday.
