Grimes will start Monday's Game 4 versus Miami. Grimes started the Knicks' first three postseason games, but after missing back-to-back contests due to injury, he's operated off the bench in each of the first three matchups versus Miami. However, he'll return to the starting lineup for Game 4, taking Josh Hart's spot. As a starter this season (69 games), Grimes has averaged 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 31.2 minutes.... See More ... See Less

Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Not starting Sunday
Grimes (shoulder) has been cleared to suit up, but he won't start Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Heat on Sunday, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports. Grimes will return to action after missing the final two games of the opening-round series, but he'll operate off the bench as the Knicks opt to start Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, Josh Hart, Obi Toppin and Mitchell Robinson with Julius Randle (ankle) unavailable. Grimes came off the bench only five times during the regular season, and he didn't see more than eight minutes in any of those contests.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Says he'll play Sunday
Grimes (shoulder) is officially listed as questionable but said he'll play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Heat on Sunday, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports. Grimes had previously said he expected to be ready for the series opener, so despite the questionable designation, this doesn't come as a surprise. He missed the final two games of the opening-round matchup versus Cleveland, but he figures to slide back into the starting lineup, especially with Julius Randle (ankle) unlikely to suit up. Heading into the playoffs, Grimes averaged 21.9 points over his final nine regular-season appearances, but he's totaled just 11 points over three playoff contests thus far.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Officially listed questionable
Grimes (shoulder) is questionable for Game 1 versus the Heat on Sunday. While Grimes is officially listed, coach Tom Thibodeau said Saturday that he will play in Game 1, barring a setback, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. The second-year guard missed the final two games of the Knicks' first-round matchup with Cleveland due to a right shoulder contusion.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Expects to be ready for Game 1
Grimes (shoulder) expects to be ready for Sunday's Game 1 against the Heat, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports. A bruised right shoulder kept Grimes out of Games 4 and 5 against the Cavaliers, but the Knicks had no problems dispatching Cleveland without him. Still, Grimes' shooting ability, combined with his solid defense, will bolster the Knicks' chances against an impressive Heat squad led by Jimmy Butler.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Won't play Wednesday
Grimes (shoulder) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 5 versus Cleveland, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports. Grimes is set to miss his second straight game, which should result in another start for Josh Hart and some extended minutes for Immanuel Quickley and Miles McBride. If the Knicks can't close out this First Round series Wednesday, Grimes' next chance to play will be Game 6 on Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Listed as questionable
Grimes (shoulder) is questionable for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Cavaliers. Grimes suffered a right shoulder contusion during Game 3 and was forced to the sidelines for Game 4 after initially being listed as questionable. He has a chance to return Wednesday, but if he remains out, Josh Hart would presumably draw another start, while Immanuel Quickley and Miles McBride could see increased run off the bench.... Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Won't play in Game 4
Grimes (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's Game 4 versus Cleveland. Grimes has been downgraded from questionable to out due to a bruised right shoulder he suffered in Game 3. Josh Hart will slide into the starting lineup in Grimes' absence, but Immanuel Quickley should also see increased run off the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Questionable for Game 4
Grimes (shoulder) is questionable to play in Sunday's Game 4 against the Cavaliers. Grimes exited Friday's Game 3 after sustaining a bruised right shoulder and is at risk of also sitting out Game 4. If he were to miss, expect either Josh Hart or Immanuel Quickley to step into the starting lineup, while both would see expanded roles.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Questionable to return
Grimes has a right shoulder contusion and is questionable to return to Game 3 against the Cavaliers, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports. Grimes has had a very quiet series so far, and this obviously isn't going to help. If he's unable to return, the Knicks will likely need to rely on Immanuel Quickley and Josh Hart a bit more.... Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Uneventful night Tuesday
Grimes amassed four points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three rebounds, two assists and three steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 107-90 loss to Cleveland in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Grimes logged 22 minutes in the loss, producing a performance worthy of such few minutes. While he was able to contribute three steals, he attempted only two shots, affording the Cavaliers' defense plenty of respite. The series now heads to New York, where Grimes will look to recapture his form from late in the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Explodes for season-high 36 points
Grimes finished with 36 points (14-23 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, five assists and three steals over 43 minutes during Wednesday's 138-129 win over the Pacers. For the second time this season, Grimes topped 30 points, with backcourt mate Immanuel Quickley (team-high 39 points) also surpassing that plateau Wednesday. The 2021 first-round pick has been excellent to close the season, grading out as a top-20 fantasy option over the last two weeks in nine-category leagues on a per-game basis. In his last seven games, Grimes is averaging 23.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.4 steals while drilling 5.7 three-pointers per game.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Drops 27 in clincher
Grimes finished Sunday's 118-109 win over the Wizards with 27 points (9-17 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and five assists in 41 minutes. The Knicks clinched a playoff spot without RJ Barrett (illness) and Julius Randle (ankle), partially due to playing the Wizards but also because Grimes had a big night. He tied for the team lead in points while producing solid assist and three-point numbers. The former first-round pick has averaged 20.8 points per game over his last six appearances while shooting an even 50 percent from beyond the arc. With the Knicks just about locked into the five seed, Grimes could continue to see expanded opportunities to finish the season.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Another productive night in win
Grimes closed Wednesday's 101-92 win over Miami with 23 points (8-14 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal over 36 minutes. Grimes' playing time and fantasy value has largely been on the downturn since the team acquired Josh Hart at the trade deadline in early February, but the second-year wing has inexplicably enjoyed a surprising surge of late. After playing between 20 and 25 minutes over a four-game stretch between March 12 and 20, Grimes has received 26-, 38-, 38- and 36-minute workloads over the subsequent four contests. His production has taken off accordingly, as Grimes is averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 three-pointers, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals over that stretch. There's a level of unsustainability to his offense -- he's knocked down 51.3 percent of his 9.8 three-point attempts per game -- but if he continues to get elevated minutes like he has over the past three contests, Grimes might be able to remain valuable to some degree once shooting regression inevitably hits.... Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Just misses double-double
Grimes amassed 14 points (5-12 FG, 4-9 3Pt), nine rebounds, six assists and two steals across 38 minutes during Monday's 137-115 win over the Rockets. The second-year guard came within one dime of recording his first career double-double. Grimes has scored in double digits in three straight games thanks to an incredible eruption from beyond the arc, as he's gone 15-for-29 on three-point attempts. That just builds on the growth in his shooting he's displayed since the All-Star break -- over the last 16 games, Grimes has averaged 2.5 threes a game while shooting 44.4 percent from long range.... Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Leads from deep in 25-point outing
Grimes accumulated 25 points (10-18 FG, 5-10 3Pt), five rebounds, six assists and three steals across 38 minutes during Thursday's 111-106 loss to the Magic. Grimes led the team in threes made while finishing with a team-high-tying point total in a losing effort Thursday against Orlando. Grimes has tallied at least 20 points with five or more threes five times this season, including in two straight contests.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Bounces back Wednesday
Grimes finished Wednesday's 127-120 loss to the Heat with 22 points (7-12 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes. Grimes was coming off five straight games with single-digit scoring outputs, but he made an unexpected impact as a perimeter shooter Wednesday. The 22 points tied his best total of the month, but aside from the three-pointers category, he offered little impact in other areas. Given his recent form prior to Wednesday's contest along with his lack of diverse statistical production, Grimes is tough to recommend as a pickup outside of deeper leagues, even while he continues to hold down a starting role.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Run of poor production continues
Grimes logged four points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, one block and one steal across 20 minutes during Tuesday's 123-107 win over the Trail Blazers. Though he continues to hold down a starting role, Grimes has been struggling to put up fantasy-friendly numbers and is starting to see his minutes dwindle at the expense of trade-deadline pickup Josh Hart. He's reached the 30-minute mark just once in his last 14 games, averaging 7.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers and 1.5 assists over that stretch while shooting 42.5 percent from the field.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Scores 22 against Brooklyn
Grimes racked up 22 points (8-12 FG, 6-9 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 142-118 victory over Brooklyn. Grimes was efficient from the field and posted a solid scoring line, but he didn't contribute much in other categories. Grimes has gone seven straight starts without clearing the 30-minute mark, and his numbers have declined in that span, as he's averaging just 8.0 points per game.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Quentin Grimes: Plays 22 minutes against Nets
Grimes closed with eight points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one steal over 22 minutes during Monday's 124-106 victory over the Nets. Even though RJ Barrett played just 24 minutes due to an undisclosed issue, Grimes did not see a large workload in this one, as Josh Hart and Immanuel Quickley had the hot hands off the bench while Jalen Brunson dropped 40 points. Grimes' minutes and fantasy production are trending in the wrong direction because New York's trade deadline move didn't do him any favors.... See More ... See Less
