Yongxi Cui: Let go by Brooklyn
The Nets waived Cui (knee) on Sunday, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Cui became expendable after his 2024-25 season came to a brutal end Wednesday, when he tore the ACL in his left knee while playing in a game for the G League's Long Island Nets. The Nets cut Cui to open up a two-way spot for Reece Beekman, whom Brooklyn acquired Sunday in a deal that sent Dennis Schroder to Golden State. Cui is slated for a lengthy rehab and will likely have to prove he's 100 percent healthy before getting another NBA opportunity. Before suffering the injury, Cui appeared in five games for Brooklyn while logging 10 total minutes.

Nets' Yongxi Cui: Suffers season-ending ACL tear
The Nets announced Friday that Cui sustained a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee during the G League Long Island Nets' 120-100 loss to the Maine Celtics on Wednesday.
An undrafted rookie out of China who signed a two-year, two-way contract with Brooklyn in September, Cui will conclude his first NBA season having made five appearances for the Nets while averaging 0.6 points in 2.0 minutes per contest. Cui is expected to make a full recovery once he gets surgery to address the knee injury, though it's unclear if he'll be 100 percent in advance of training camp next fall.
