  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Confirmed out for Sunday

Jackson (quadriceps) won't play Sunday against the Nuggets, as expected. Memphis' playoff hopes were over several weeks ago, so the Grizzlies essentially shut down most of their roster. Jackson ended up making 66 appearances this season, posting averages of 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.6 blocks, 1.2 steals and 1.8 three-pointers while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 32.0 percent from beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the line.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Unlikely to return in 2023-24

Head coach Taylor Jenkins said Tuesday that there is a "good chance" Jackson (quadricep) won't play again this season, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. With Memphis already being eliminated from the playoffs and Jackson having already played in 65 games to qualify for an All-NBA team, it's not surprising that the team is leaning toward shutting him down for the campaign. The 24-year-old will miss a third consecutive game Tuesday with right quad tendinitis, but the injury isn't anything that should affect his training during the offseason. Assuming he doesn't make any appearances in Memphis' final three games, the big man will end the 2023-24 campaign having averaged 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 three-pointers, 1.6 blocks and 1.2 steals in 32.2 minutes across 66 appearances. While Jackson's blocks per game decreased from 3.0 that he posted last season en route to Defensive Player of the Year honors, his 22.5 points per game were a career-high mark.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Won't play Tuesday

Jackson (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Spurs. Jackson will miss a third straight game due to a lingering quad issue after suiting up for the previous nine matchups. Tuesday's game is the first half of a back-to-back set, so Jackson may return Wednesday in Cleveland. However, at this point, the Grizzlies may just shut down their regulars for the final week of the regular season.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Ruled out again

Jackson (quadriceps) has been ruled out of Saturday's matchup with the 76ers. After suiting up for nine straight games, Jackson will miss his second straight due to right quadriceps tendinitis. In his absence, Brandon Clarke (Achilles), Trey Jemison and Lamar Stevens figure to all be available for increased run at center. The next opportunity for Jackson to suit up will come Tuesday against the Spurs.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Ruled out for Friday's game

Jackson has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Pistons due to right quadriceps tendinitis. Jackson hasn't missed a game since mid-March, but he'll sit out Friday after totaling 75 points over his last two appearances. Brandon Clarke (Achilles) has also been ruled out, so Trey Jemison and Lamar Stevens could see increased run in the frontcourt Friday.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Extends hot streak Wednesday

Jackson finished Wednesday's 111-101 win over the Bucks with 35 points (14-26 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals across 37 minutes. Jackson was coming off a 40-point performance against the Pistons on Monday, and he kept the hot hand going with another high-scoring effort in Memphis' upset win Wednesday. Jackson is ending the season on a strong note and has scored at least 25 points in five of his last eight appearances.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Explodes for 40 points vs. Detroit

Jackson closed with 40 points (13-23 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 12-14 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals across 34 minutes during Monday's 110-108 win over Detroit. It was a fantastic bounce-back performance from Jackson on Monday, with the sixth-year center coming off a four-point outing against the Magic on Saturday. It's the third time this season that Jackson has scored 40-plus points, as he's been the main option on offense with Ja Morant (shoulder) and Desmond Bane (back) out for much of the season. Since the All-Star break, Jackson is averaging 22.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.9 steals over 33.1 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Struggles badly Saturday

Jackson contributed four points (1-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 26 minutes during Saturday's 118-88 loss to the Magic. The Grizzlies struggled badly in this one, and it felt like the game was out of their reach by the time the first quarter ended. The play of some of the most experienced players, such as Jackson, didn't help, as the big man has one of his worst games of the campaign while dealing with Wendell Carter, who posted a double-double, on both ends of the court. Jackson is just too talented to struggle at this rate on a consistent basis, however, and he'll look to bounce back Monday against the Pistons, where he'll probably match up against another promising big in Jalen Duren.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Nears 30 points as leading scorer

Jackson closed with 28 points (11-22 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 36 minutes during Friday's 99-97 win over San Antonio. Jackson led all Grizzlies players in scoring to go along with a pair of threes and a team-high pair of blocks in a balanced outing to pace Memphis in a narrow victory. Jackson, who scored 19 points in the second half including 12 points in the fourth quarter alone, has led the Grizzlies offensively as of late, surpassing the 25-point mark in three straight outings.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Strikes for 28 against Warriors

Jackson finished with 28 points (13-21 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 137-116 loss to Golden State. The 24-year-old center hit for at least 25 points for the fifth time in nine games since the All-Star break, although Jackson has also missed five contests during that period due to a nagging quadriceps injury. He's averaging 24.0 points, 6.1 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.8 threes, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals over that stretch, but the Grizzlies may continue to give him regular rest given that they are already eliminated from playoff contention.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Versatile effort in defeat

Jackson (quadriceps) closed with 19 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals over 36 minutes during Saturday's 118-112 loss to the Thunder. Jackson returned following a two-game absence but was impressive on both ends of the court, filling out the stat sheet and keeping his remarkable scoring run alive. Jackson has now scored at least 15 points in all but one of his appearances since the beginning of January while also doing it in 25 consecutive games. He's averaging 24.6 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field in that 25-game stretch.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Good to go Saturday

Jackson (quadriceps) is available for Saturday's game against the Thunder. Jackson has missed five of the last eight games for Memphis due to tendinitis, though the Grizzlies have been extra cautious. There's no word of any restrictions ahead of tipoff. The Grizzlies will be getting Desmond Bane (ankle) back as well.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Considered questionable

Jackson (quadriceps) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Thunder. Jackson continues to deal with right quadriceps tendinitis. He's missed five of the last eight games, but he's played well when available. Over his last 10 appearances, Jackson has averaged 24.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals in 32.9 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Downgraded to out

Jackson (quadriceps) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Hornets. Jackson will miss his fifth game of the Grizzlies' last eight as he continues to battle right quadriceps tendinitis. With Santi Aldama (elbow) and Lamar Stevens (groin) also absent, Trey Jemison and Wenyen Gabriel should see plenty of work at the center spot. Jackson's next chance to play will come Saturday against the Thunder.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Unlikely to play Wednesday

Jackson (quadricep) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Hornets. Jackson continues to deal with right quad tendinitis and will likely be sidelined for the fifth time over Memphis' last eight games. In the middle of that stretch, Jackson appeared in three straight games, including a 30-point, 11-rebound, six-block effort versus Philadelphia on March 6. It's unclear if the talented big man suffered a setback or if the struggling Grizzlies are being cautious with him because they're out of the playoff chase.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Won't play Tuesday

Jackson has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Wizards due to right quad tendonitis. Jackson missed three straight games due to a quad issue to start March, but he's appeared in three consecutive contests since then, including a 30-point, 11-rebound, six-block performance against the 76ers. However, he'll return to the sidelines for the front end of Memphis' back-to-back set, and he can be considered questionable for Wednesday's matchup versus the Hornets.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Solid but inefficient in loss

Jackson notched 21 points (8-19 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-8 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals over 35 minutes during Friday's 99-92 loss to the Hawks. Jackson contributed on both ends of the floor, salvaging an inefficient night from both the field and the charity stripe. The Grizzlies have been rolling with a different lineup on a nightly basis over the past month, meaning Jackson's availability is far from certain. As long as he is on the floor, he is obviously a must-roster player. However, if you could move off him for any top-50 asset, it would be a sensible move.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Carries club to road win in return

Jackson (quadricep) closed with 30 points (10-25 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 11 rebounds, six blocks and one assist across 37 minutes during Wednesday's 115-109 victory over Philadelphia. After missing the prior three games due to quad tendinitis, Jackson returned to the lineup with a bang, leading all scorers on the night while producing his fifth double-double of the season and tying his season high in rejections. The 24-year-old center has seen his usage increase substantially when he's been on the court due to all the Grizzlies' other injuries, and in 10 games since the beginning of February, he's averaging 25.6 points, 5.5 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.6 three-pointers, 1.7 blocks and 1.4 steals.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Cleared to play Wednesday

Jackson (quadriceps) is available for Wednesday's game against the 76ers. Jackson will end a three-game absence Wednesday and faces a frontcourt without Joel Embiid (knee). Over his last seven appearances, Jackson has averaged 24.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.9 blocks in 32.7 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Listed questionable for Wednesday

Jackson (quadriceps) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the 76ers. Jackson has a chance to return Wednesday following a three-game absence due to right quad tendinitis, which also caused him to miss Memphis' final contest before the All-Star break. Between those two absences, Jackson appeared in three straight games, averaging 25.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.3 assists in 33.3 minutes during that stretch. If Jackson remains out Wednesday, Santi Aldama, Vince Williams and GG Jackson would be candidates for increased usage.
