The Rockets traded Washington, Usman Garuba, two second-round picks and $1.1 million in cash to the Hawks in exchange for the draft rights to Alpha Kaba on Saturday, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Washington was the 29th overall pick by the Rockets in 2022, so it's surprising to see Houston move on from him so soon. Rockets' TyTy Washington: Scores 34 in G League Finals loss
Washington logged 34 points (12-25 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five assists, four rebounds and two steals across 37 minutes during Rio Grande Valley's 114-110 loss to Delaware on Thursday. Thursday's game featured Washington's best scoring performance of the 2023 G League playoffs. Unfortunately for him, it was not enough to prevent Rio Grande Valley from suffering a 2-0 sweep by Delaware. Still, Washington has nothing to be ashamed of, averaging a team-best 27.4 points across five playoff games.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' TyTy Washington: Excellent despite loss
Washington logged 31 points (12-29 FG, 3-13 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists and one block across 42 minutes during the Vipers' 134-120 loss to Delaware on Tuesday. Washington was the Vipers' best scorer, rebounder and distributor during their first loss of the 2023 G League Finals. The Vipers' success will continue to go through him, especially as his playoff-scoring average (25.8 points across four G League games) suggests.... See More ... See Less -

Washington scored at least 20 points during each of the Vipers' playoff games so far. Each instance helped them inch closer to the 2023 G League Finals, where they will take on Delaware in a three-game set. Washington enters having averaged 24.0 points across three playoff games.... Rockets' TyTy Washington: Near triple-double
Washington logged 20 points (9-21 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 assists and nine rebounds across 40 minutes during Rio Grande Valley's 110-108 win over Memphis on Friday. Washington was one rebound short of a triple-double in helping lead Rio Grande Valley into the G League's Western Conference Finals. Washington will be expected to continue leading the Vipers when they compete against Sioux Falls on Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' TyTy Washington: Logs 28 points, eight assists

Washington was the Vipers' best player as they went 2-1 across their last three regular-season games. He averaged 24.7 points and 8.3 assists across the three-game span. Washington logged 26 points (8-23 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 8-8 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 36 minutes during the Vipers' 126-119 loss to Santa Cruz on Tuesday. Despite recently battling migraines, Washington was able to play and be the Vipers' best scorer Tuesday. While part of their roster, he is expected to lead them until Houston promotes him again. As of Tuesday, Washington is averaging 26.5 points across six G League games.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' TyTy Washington: Back to NBA
Houston recalled Washington from the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Monday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Washington may see some action as a reserve during Monday's contest against the Warriors, as Houston could elect to rest a few players for the second half of a back-to-back. However, the rookie point guard has appeared in just four March contests, totaling five points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' TyTy Washington: Headed to G League
The Rockets assigned Washington to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League on Thursday, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Rockets' TyTy Washington: Back to NBA
Houston recalled Washington from the League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Friday, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports. Washington fell out of the rotation with Kevin Porter and Jalen Green healthy and was sent to the G League. However, Porter is back on the injury report again with a thigh issue, so Washington has been recalled and will serve as a depth option if Porter is ultimately sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' TyTy Washington: Inefficient against Greensboro
Washington logged 12 points (5-16 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals across 36 minutes during the Vipers' 116-110 win over Greensboro on Wednesday. Washington missed more than two-thirds of his field goals and almost averaged a turnover for every five minutes he played, so it clearly wasn't his best night. Still, the guard is expected to receive maximum opportunities when he's with the Rockets' G League affiliate.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' TyTy Washington: Assigned to G League
The Rockets assigned Washington to the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Wednesday, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. With Kevin Porter and Jalen Green both available, Washington's role for the NBA squad has dwindled over the past week. He'll presumably see extended playing time during his stint in the G League.... Rockets' TyTy Washington: Good to go Saturday
Washington (illness) will play in Saturday's game against the Spurs. Daishen Nix and Josh Christopher may see a few extra minutes with Washington sidelined. His next chance to play will come Saturday against the Spurs.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' TyTy Washington: Barely cracks double figures
Washington racked up 10 points (3-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Sunday's 131-114 loss to the Trail Blazers. Washington drew a second straight start in Jalen Green's (groin) absence and submitted another quality performance. He's totaled 25 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals over those two games, but he's gone 8-for-22 from the field and 5-for-13 from deep. Despite the inefficient shooting, Washington has been a solid streaming option for anyone who opted to scoop him up following Green's injury, and those fantasy managers should continue to leave Washington in their lineups until Green is cleared to return.... Rockets' TyTy Washington: Logs career-high 34 minutes
Washington posted 15 points (5-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, four assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Friday's 116-101 loss to Golden State. Washington got the first start of his career Friday, delivering a relatively strong fantasy line. With the Rockets running a very thin backcourt, Washington is finally getting the run many have been hoping for. While it is unlikely to stick ROS, he is a name to at least watch for the next week or two. Should he see upward of 30 minutes again Sunday, those in deeper formats could consider taking a flier on the promising young rookie.... See More ... See Less

Frank Madden@fmaddenNBA17H agoBucks starting five struggled early in the season but they've been an absolute buzzsaw of late. Have hung a 134 ORTG in last 10 games and up to +14.5 net on the season. Opponents shooting 39% from 3 so it's not a fluke either.

Frank Madden@fmaddenNBA17H agoBucks might have a ways to go defensively but it's been fun watching Giannis become a defensive playmaker again -- he's now at 6 straight games with 3+ stocks and has done it in 11 of 20 games. Last year he did it 13 times all season and only once in back-to-back games.

Frank Madden@fmaddenNBA4D agoHawks have frustrated Bucks so many times last couple years that any win is a good win against Atlanta. Giannis was great especially as PNR finisher/passer. Some really good defensive possessions late and the half court offense was fantastic (1.20 pts/play).
