The Thunder recalled Waters from the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Tuesday, Andrew Schlecht of The Athletic reports. Waters helped the Oklahoma City Blue clinch their first G League championship on Monday, putting up 15 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block over 34 minutes in a 117-100 victory over the Maine Celtics in Game 3 of the G League Finals. • Thunder's Lindy Waters: Recalled by parent club

The Thunder recalled Waters from the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Friday, Rylan Stiles of FanSided.com reports. Waters scored a team-high 27 points (10-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt) to lead the Blue to a Game 2 victory over the Maine Celtics in the G League Finals on Thursday. The Blue have split the first two matchups of the three-game series but don't play Maine again until Monday, so Waters will have a chance to work with the Thunder during the final weekend of the NBA regular season. Over five appearances with the parent club in April, he's averaged 7.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game.

The Thunder recalled Waters from the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Tuesday. If he's able to play through the ankle issue Tuesday, Waters could maintain a small role in the Oklahoma City rotation.

  • Thunder's Lindy Waters: Gets 10 minutes off bench

Waters logged two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds and one block across 10 minutes Sunday in the Thunder's 120-104 loss to the Pistons. After turning in 33- and 20-point performances with the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Jan. 21 and 24, Waters rejoined the parent club ahead of the Thunder's last two contests. After seeing two minutes of garbage time at the tail end of Friday's 107-83 win over the Pelicans, Waters saw more extended playing time Sunday, but he didn't check into the contest until the Thunder trailed by 16 points with 9:52 remaining in the fourth quarter. The 26-year-old doesn't look as though he'll be a regular contributor in the Oklahoma City rotation while the club is at full strength.

  • Thunder's Lindy Waters: Garbage time special Tuesday

Waters registered six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt) over five minutes during Tuesday's 123-87 victory over the Spurs. Waters featured in the rotation for just the fifth time this season, joining a number of his teammates who have also seen limited run thus far. This was simply a result of the Thunder gaining control early against a Spurs team playing for nothing more than lottery balls. Waters remains a non-factor and barring a significant run of injuries to other players, it appears he will spend more time cheering on from the sideline than actually playing this season.

  • Thunder's Lindy Waters: Returns to OKC

Waters agreed Friday with the Thunder on a one-year, two-way contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Though Oklahoma City chose to decline Waters' $1.93 million team option for 2023-24 heading into the start of free agency earlier this offseason, the 26-year-old wing will ultimately stick around with the Thunder as one of the team's three two-way players. A career 36 percent shooter from downtown over 66 appearances with the Thunder the past two seasons, Waters will likely face a tougher path to playing time in 2023-24 after Oklahoma City lost none of its key rotation players from the past season while adding rookies Cason Wallace and Vasilije Micic and returning 2022 No. 2 overall pick Chet Holmgren from injury.
