Murray chipped in 44 points (18-44 FG, 6-19 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals in 47 minutes during Thursday's 123-122 overtime victory over the Celtics. Murray had one of the best games of his career on a night when the Hawks desperately needed him. He delivered by posting a career-best scoring output, and he capped it off by hitting the game-winning shot with less than a second left in overtime. Murray continues to play at an extremely high level in the absence of Trae Young (finger), and he's experiencing quite an uptick as a scorer, recording 28 or more points in four of his last five appearances.... Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Good to go Thursday
Murray (back) is available for Thursday's game against the Celtics, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. Murray will shake off a questionable tag and extend his consecutive games played streak to 21. Over his last 10 appearances, Murray has averaged 27.7 points, 9.3 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 steals in 37.5 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Still dealing with back issue
Murray is questionable for Thursday's game against the Celtics due to lower back soreness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Murray continues to deal with the back issue but hasn't missed a game since Feb. 9. Thursday's contest is the second half of a back-to-back set, and the point guard posted 30 points (13-20 FG), seven assists, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 35 minutes during Wednesday's win over Portland. If Murray takes a seat, Trent Forrest, Garrison Mathews and Wesley Matthews would be candidates for increased minutes, but Bogdan Bogdanovic would likely start at point guard.... See More ... Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Double-double streak snapped
Murray supplied 30 points (13-20 FG, 4-8 3Pt), three rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 120-106 victory over the Trail Blazers. Murray failed to record a sixth consecutive double-double, but the versatile guard continues to make a massive impact on the offensive end of the court as a primary scorer and playmaker for a Hawks team that continues to operate without Trae Young (finger). Murray's impact has been massive for the Hawks, as he's averaging 27.7 points, 9.3 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game over his last 10 appearances. To note, Atlanta has gone 5-5 in that span.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Good to go against Portland
Murray (back) is available for Wednesday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. Murray has been upgraded from questionable to available Wednesday despite dealing with lower back soreness. The 27-year-old guard is averaging 26.5 points, 9.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals in 37.9 minutes across his last 10 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Dealing with back issue
Murray is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers due to lower back soreness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Murray played 41 minutes in Monday's win over Boston but is dealing with a lower back issue before the first half of a back-to-back set Wednesday. He hasn't missed a game since early February, but Trent Forrest, Garrison Mathews and Wesley Matthews could see additional minutes if Murray is sidelined Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Two-way maestro Monday
Murray posted 19 points (8-22 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds, 15 assists and three steals over 41 minutes during Monday's 120-118 victory over the Celtics. He only committed one turnover as well. Murray showed off strong chemistry with Bruno Fernando, as the duo punished mismatches by establishing deep position and physically overpowering Boston inside throughout Monday's win. Murray's assist total also benefited from his teammates' hot shooting, with Atlanta canning 50.0 percent of 38 three-point attempts. The guard was sharp as a floor general and deserves sizable credit for leading a 30-point comeback, representing the largest margin of deficit turned to a victory in franchise history.... Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Comes close to triple-double
Murray supplied 28 points (10-14 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, 12 assists and five steals in 31 minutes during Saturday's 132-91 win over the Hornets. Murray led the Hawks offensively and carried the team to victory with an impressive performance. He finished just three boards away from a triple-double and recorded a season-high mark in assists. This was Murray's 11th game with double-digit assists in the current campaign, and his scope of influence continues to be massive on a Hawks team that has been without Trae Young (finger), as Murray has now ended quite close to a triple-double four times since the All-Star break.... Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Just misses triple-double
Murray posted a team-high 29 points (11-26 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds, 10 assists and four steals across 40 minutes during Thursday's 128-115 loss to the Suns. The 27-year-old guard just missed his first triple-double of the season but posted his third straight double-double and eighth in 14 games since the All-Star break, a stretch in which Murray has averaged 25.2 points, 8.5 assists, 5.7 boards, 3.0 threes and 1.8 steals -- all above his season averages. Trae Young (finger) is due to be re-evaluated soon but still lacks a timeline for his return, so Murray should keep his elevated usage rate for the foreseeable future.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Posts quiet double-double Monday
Murray accumulated 13 points (6-18 FG, 1-9 3Pt), five rebounds, 10 assists and three steals across 31 minutes during Monday's 136-105 loss to the Lakers. Murray managed his second straight double-double in defeat but struggled to put the ball in the hoop, especially from deep. The point guard's 13 points were his fewest since Feb. 14, and his performance Monday snapped a five-game streak of draining at least four triples. Murray was due for an off day after posting sizzling averages of 25.9 points, 8.3 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 3.2 three-pointers over 12 games following the All-Star break before Monday.... Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Records double-double in victory
Murray amassed 21 points (7-14 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, 10 assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Sunday's 110-93 win over the Clippers. Atlanta was the more cohesive team Sunday night, and Murray deserves a lot of the credit. Murray has propped up the Hawks during Trae Young's (finger) absence, and he'll keep the offensive engine humming as they make a push for a spot in the Play-In Tournament. Over the 11 games since Young's injury, Murray has averaged 26.1 points, 8.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Teases big triple-double in loss
Murray supplied 33 points (10-27 FG, 5-14 3Pt, 8-9 FT), seven rebounds, nine assists and two steals over 39 minutes during Friday's 124-122 loss to Utah. The 27-year-old came close to producing his first triple-double of the season, but instead Murray had to settle for another big scoring effort as he's topped 30 points three times in the last four games. In 11 contests since the All-Star break, he's averaging 26.4 points, 8.1 assists, 5.9 boards, 3.0 threes and 1.5 steals, and his boost in assist numbers has coincided with the absence of Trae Young (finger). With Young not expected back until sometime in April, Murray should continue handling main distribution duties for the Hawks.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Huge effort not enough Wednesday
Murray finished with 40 points (15-29 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 43 minutes during Wednesday's 106-102 loss to the Trail Blazers. Murray ended just one point away from tying his career-best scoring output, but not even this effort was enough to lift the Hawks to victory over a struggling Trail Blazers team. Murray has been taking over on offense for the Hawks ever since Trae Young (finger) got sidelined, and he's averaging a robust stat line of 25.7 points, 8.0 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game since the end of the All-Star break.... Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Another double-double
Murray finished Sunday's 116-103 loss to the Pelicans with 23 points (7-20 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 11 assists, one rebound and one steal in 41 minutes. Murray didn't have his best shooting performance and struggled overall as a scorer, but he salvaged his fantasy stat line by handing out 11 dimes. It's the fourth time across his last eight games that he has recorded double-digit assists, as he's taken on more significant responsibility in the playmaking department in Trae Young's (finger) absence. Until that changes, Murray should continue to experience a fantasy uptick.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Cleared for Sunday
Murray (calf) will play Sunday versus New Orleans. Murray had been listed as probable heading into the day with the left calf contusion, so his availability for Sunday's contest comes as no major surprise. Atlanta will need his firepower with Trae Young recovering from finger surgery and Jalen Johnson (ankle) ruled out for Sunday's game.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Expected to play against Pelicans
Murray is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus New Orleans due to a left calf contusion. Murray hasn't missed a game since Feb. 9 and isn't expected to do so Sunday despite dealing with a calf injury. With Trae Young (finger) out for a lengthy period, Murray should continue to be relied upon as Atlanta's primary playmaker.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Scores season-high 41 points
Murray chipped in 41 points (17-25 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and two steals over 40 minutes during Friday's 99-92 victory over the Grizzlies. Murray matched his season high with 41 points, carrying the Hawks to a much-needed victory. Despite being without several key pieces, the Hawks have now won three straight games, keeping themselves firmly in the play-in race. They now have a four-game cushion over the Nets while sitting two games behind the Bulls. If they hope to make any noise during the postseason, Murray is going to have to continue to put up gaudy numbers on a nightly basis.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Hands out nine assists in win
Murray racked up 18 points (7-21 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds, nine assists and two steals across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 112-101 victory over the Cavaliers. Murray struggled from deep and nailed just one of his seven three-point attempts, but he salvaged his fantasy stat line by delivering value in other categories, mainly the nine assists and two steals. Murray has taken over the playmaking duties in Atlanta with Trae Young (finger) out, and the numbers back that up. He's averaging 8.6 assists, as well as 21.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game, since the end of the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Solid all-around showing in win
Murray ended Tuesday's 116-100 victory over New York with 21 points (7-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal in 37 minutes. Murray has embraced a more significant role in the playmaking department due to the absence of Trae Young (finger), and he's been thriving in the same point guard role he had during his Spurs days. Murray is known for his ability to impact the game on both ends of the court, and such has been the case in recent weeks as well. Murray is averaging 22.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks per game since the end of the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Scores 20, hands out 11 dimes
Murray closed with 20 points (8-19 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, 11 assists, one block and two steals over 35 minutes during Saturday's 114-102 loss to the Nets. Murray didn't have his best shooting performance Saturday and needed 19 shots to score 20 points. However, the lack of efficiency will not hurt his fantasy upside, especially in games during which he's putting up excellent all-around numbers such as this one. Murray has embraced a more significant responsibility in the playmaking department with Trae Young (finger) sidelined and has made the most of it, dishing out double-digit assists in three of his last four outings. He's also surpassed the 20-point mark three times in that stretch.... See More ... See Less
