Burton tallied two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 FT) along one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block in a win over Iowa on Friday.
Burton didn't make much of an impact in the box score after missing the Stars' previous contest with an undisclosed issue. That falls in line with his overall performance this season; he is averaging a mere 3.8 points and 1.5 assists in 26 games.

Burton totaled six points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and four assists in a victory over South Bay on Monday.
Though Burton typically sees minutes in the mid-to-high teens, he's not much of a scorer, averaging a mere 3.8 points per game. Aside from an 18-point outburst Jan. 18, the 28-year-old has finished with a single-digit point total in every other one of his games this season.

Burton logged a meager five minutes in the first game of the back-to-back set Friday and appears to have fallen almost entirely out of the rotation. His recent shooting woes may be to blame as the 28-year-old has made only 2-of-16 field-goal attempts over his last five games.

Burton logged nine minutes of action in the team's previous contest after sitting out for over a month, but he was back out of the rotation Tuesday. In five games this season, he is averaging 3.2 points in 13.4 minutes per contest.

Burton scored four points (1-1 FG, 1-1 FT) and grabbed one rebound in a loss to Santa Cruz on Friday.
Although Burton saw limited time on the court and produced little in the way of counting stats, he actually led the team with a plus-15 plus-minus. Perhaps the coaching staff will take note of that number and expand the 28-year-old's role as he had previously not seen the court since Nov. 26.

Burton played only eight minutes in his previous contest and has logged a career-low 14.5 minutes per game through four contests this season. The 28-year-old isn't likely to fill a major role for the Stars in his third campaign with the club.

Deonte Burton: Stellar shooting from deep
Burton totaled 27 points (11-26 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds and eight assists over 42 minutes Saturday against Erie.
Burton found his shooting touch from beyond the arc, knocking down 45.5 percent of his threes. Despite leading his team in points scored, the Stars would take a 104-98 loss on the road after getting outscored 37-22 in the final quarter of play. Saturday marked Burton's first start of the season, although he's averaging just 5.1 points, 2.6 assists and 1.7 rebounds through 27 games this season.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Drops 17 points, hits game-winner
Burton, who hit the game-winning shot as time expired, finished with 17 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block across 26 minutes during Friday's 87-85 summer league win over the Magic.
In addition to hitting the game-winner, Burton led the team in points, rebounds and steals Friday. The Iowa State product had put together some quality games before Friday, however, this was his best one. He played overseas last year, but could have an opportunity to sign a contract in the States if this performance, in combination with his others, is weighed heavily enough.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Inks two-way deal with OKC
Burton agreed to a two-way contract with the Thunder on Saturday, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.
Burton, who is joining OKC for summer league, was named MVP of the Korean Basketball League last season. He's apparently impressed the organization enough through practices and games to earn a two-way deal.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Joining Oklahoma City for summer league
Burton committed to playing for the Thunder's summer league team Friday, Ian Begley of ESPN.com reports.
After going undrafted in 2017, Burton signed with the Timberwolves as a free agent, but the former Iowa State standout ultimately decided to spend his first professional season overseas in the Korean Basketball League. There, he was named league MVP and now may potentially be looking to chase an NBA dream this summer.
