Nunnally will head to North America for his third stint in the NBA after previously spending the 2013-14 season with the Hawks and 76ers and the 2018-19 season with the Rockets and Timberwolves. Over his 28 career NBA games, the 6-foot-7 wing has averaged 2.9 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.6 three-pointers in 9.5 minutes per game while converting at a 33.8 percent rate from the field. The 30-year-old most recently suited up in the EuroLeague for Turkish club Fenerbache during the 2019-20 season, but he hasn't played professionally during the current campaign. New Orleans already has two two-way players on its roster (Naji Marshall and Will Magnay), so the Pelicans either need to waive one of the two or sign one to a standard NBA deal to make room for Nunnally.

Nunnally was one of the EuroLeague's top three-point shooters with Turkish club Fenerbahce the past two seasons before joining the Timberwolves on a two-year deal in August. The swingman, who previously had briefs stints in the NBA in 2013-14 with the Hawks and 76ers, was unable to replicate his success from Europe in Minnesota and was ultimately cut loose earlier this month. After considering offers from European teams, Nunnally elected to give it another go in the NBA with the Rockets, but he was released Monday before his 10-day contract lapsed. Rather than waiting out another NBA opportunity that likely won't come with much job security, Nunnally will instead take his talents back to the EuroLeague.

Per Charania, the Rockets are hopeful that Nunnally will be able to arrive in Houston later Wednesday and suit up in the team's game against the Nets, which tips off at 8 p.m. EST. The 28-year-old went undrafted in 2012 after four seasons at UC Santa Barbara, where he was voted to the All-Big West Second Team during his senior campaign. He's only appeared in 13 NBA games since then, spending the vast majority of his time overseas. Last season, he started 41 of his 56 appearances for the Turkish squad Fenerbahce Ulker and has made 50 percent of his three-pointers over the past two campaigns. For the Wolves, he should provide three-point shooting depth on the wing.
