Jackson scored 21 points (7-21 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and four steals during Saturday's win over Rio Grande Valley.

Jackson led the way for the Lakers with a team-high 21 points, nine of which came in the first frame to give the Lakers an early lead. The 28-year-old has been making an immediate impact off the bench for South Bay since his Jan. 25 debut.

  • Pierre Jackson: Logs 16 points

Jackson posted 16 points (5-17 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and four blocks during Sunday's loss to Santa Cruz.

Making his second start of the year for South Bay, Jackson stayed hot, scoring in double figures once again. The 28-year-old had previously played in Europe over the past two seasons. He last appeared in the G League during the 2016-17 campaign, when he averaged 22.5 points and 7.8 assists per game with the Texas Legends.

  • Pierre Jackson: Dazzles in South Bay debut

Jackson supplied a team-high 26 points (8-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT) to go with seven assists and six rebounds in 34 minutes off the bench Saturday in South Bay's 149-124 loss to Fort Wayne.

After playing in China to begin the season, Jackson was released from his contract earlier this month and quickly found work in the G League. Jackson wasted little time making an impact in South Bay in his first game back in the States, supplying a well-rounded line while shooting well from three-point range. The 5-foot-11 point guard will aim to continue to impress in the G League with the hope of earning a 10-day contract from an NBA team in the second half of the campaign.

  • Pierre Jackson: Agrees to join Maccabi Tel Aviv

Jackson has agreed on a deal to go overseas in order to join Maccabi Tel Aviv, Chema De Lucas of Gigantes.com reports.

Jackson was released by Dallas in late January after the combination of a bothersome hamstring injury and breakout of rookie Yogi Ferrell. Instead of heading back to the G-League in order for another attempt at the NBA, Jackson has opted to go overseas. He averaged 3.9 points, 2.1 assists and 1.0 rebound across 9.3 minutes per game during his nine appearances with the Mavericks last season.

  • Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Released by Mavs

Jackson was released by the Mavericks on Saturday, Earl Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

The former Baylor standout initially joined the Mavs back in December, only to be waived shortly after. He then re-signed with Dallas on a pair of 10-day contracts, but the team has apparently decided not to keep him around for the duration of the 2016-17 season. Jackson, a prolific scorer in college, could garner some looks from other NBA teams, but he may have to try his luck in the D-League or return to playing overseas. Jackson appeared in eight games for the Mavs, averaging 4.4 points and 2.4 assists in 10.5 minutes. To fill Jackson's spot on the roster, Dallas signed Yogi Ferrell to a 10-day contract Friday.

  • Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Doubtful to return Thursday vs. Thunder

Jackson has a left hamstring strain and is doubtful to return during Thursday's matchup against the Thunder, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Before exiting the game, Jackson saw 13 minutes and provided nine points (4-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), four assists, and two rebounds. It remains to be seen how serious the injury is moving forward, but it's unlikely he will return to Thursday's game.

  • Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Will start Thursday vs. Thunder

Jackson will draw the start at point guard for Thursday's tilt against the Thunder, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

In a lineup switch just prior to tipoff, coach Rick Carlisle will insert Jackson into the starting five at the point guard slot after it was previously reported that Devin Harris would start. Jackson is averaging 7.0 points and 4.0 assists across 21.0 minutes per game over the past two contests.

  • Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Signs second 10-day deal

Jackson signed a second 10-day contract with the Mavericks on Wednesday, Earl Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Jackson initially signed a partially-guaranteed deal with the Mavericks in late December following a standout stint with the D-League's Texas Legends, but the team ultimately decided to waive him earlier this month before his contract would have become fully guaranteed. The team always planned to re-sign Jackson to a 10-day contract, and after he impressed on his first short-term deal, he'll be inked to another. Once the second 10-day deal expires Feb. 3, the Mavericks would have to either waive Jackson or sign him to a contract for the remainder of the 2016-17 season. With J.J. Barea (calf) out through the All-Star break, the team could have some incentive to keep Jackson the rest of the way, especially after he impressed in the team's last game Sunday against the Lakers with 10 points, five assists, two rebounds and one steal over 18 minutes.

  • Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Inks 10-day contract with Mavericks

Jackson signed a 10-day contract with the Mavericks on Sunday, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Jackson opened the season with the Mavericks, but ended up playing in just four games, where he averaged 3.0 points and 1.8 assists over 7.0 minutes. He was waived by the Mavericks just over a week ago, but will now rejoin the team on a 10-day contract. Look for Jackson to operate as a depth option in the backcourt at point guard, although he'll likely struggle to see the floor in competitive matchups, with guys like Deron Williams, J.J. Barea, Devin Harris and Seth Curry all above him on the depth chart.

  • Pierre Jackson: Waived by Dallas on Friday

The Mavericks waived Jackson on Friday, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports.

Jackson has impressed the Mavericks during his brief time with the club and his previous stint with the D-League's Texas Legends, but it appears that Dallas didn't want to commit to guaranteeing his contract for the remainder of the 2016-17. That being said, the Mavericks are still hopeful to sign the point guard later on in January, according to Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports. Assuming Jackson clears waivers, he's expected to head back to the Legends to play in three games before re-signing with the Mavericks on a 10-day contract next weekend.

  • Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Scores 7 off Dallas bench

Jackson registered seven points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists and one rebound across 11 minutes during a 123-107 loss to Houston on Tuesday.

Jackson got immediate playing time with the Mavs after being signed Tuesday from the Mavs' D-League affiliate, the Texas Legends. Devin Harris hasn't played very well as the backup point guard, so Jackson may have a shot at some decent minutes as the backup to Deron Williams while J.J. Barea (Achilles) is out.

  • Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Inks two-year deal with Dallas

Jackson agreed to a two-year, partially-guaranteed contract with the Mavericks on Tuesday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Jackson's signing isn't official yet, but in order to make room for the point guard, the Mavericks will have to waive a player, as the roster already sits at 15 men. Fellow point guard Jonathan Gibson, who has played in only five of the last eight games while seeing no more six minutes in any contest, seems most at risk of losing his roster spot to Jackson. A former second-round pick by the 76ers in 2013, Jackson has bounced around the D-League and foreign clubs since turning pro, but it now looks like he'll have an opportunity to make his NBA debut. The 25-year-old has been lighting it up this season for the Mavs' D-League affiliate, the Texas Legends, averaging 29.1 points (on 54% shooting), 6.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 three-pointers and 1.9 steals in 35.7 minutes per game over his 10 appearances with the club.

  • Pierre Jackson: Inks contract with Croatian team

Jackson signed a contract Friday with KK Cedevita Zagreb of the Croatian A-1 Liga, international basketball writer David Pick reports.

Jackson, a second-round pick of the 76ers in 2013, has thrived in the D-League and overseas with Fenerbahce Ulker of the Turkish Basketball Super League since turning pro, but he's still waiting on his NBA debut. It appears those opportunities are waning for the 25-year-old, who will head back to Europe after failing to receive a training camp invite from an NBA team.
