What a week for the Lakers. First Steve Nash and now Devin Ebanks.
OK, so it doesn't carry nearly the same kind of exciting or buzz as inking a two-time MVP, but the Lakers have re-signed Ebanks to a one-year, $1.4 million deal, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Ebanks, 22, drew some light interest across the league from teams like the Thunder, Magic, Hawks, 76ers and Nets but ultimately settled on returning to the Lakers after he likely wasn't able to draw a better offer from somewhere else.
A second-round pick in 2010 by the Lakers, Ebanks played in 24 games last season while starting the first four as Metta World Peace served a suspension.
The Lakers aren't expected to re-sign Matt Barnes and with some trade or amnesty chatter circling around World Peace, Ebanks might see his minutes improve. With only a one-year deal in hand, essentially Ebanks is playing for a long-term extension this season.
The one interesting thing about it is how Ebanks' signing might impact Grant Hill. The Lakers are reportedly on top of Hill's wish list and with World Peace and Ebanks already part of the roster, Hill might not be a priority.
Ebanks averaged 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds a game last season.
