The Portland Trail Blazers are down 0-2 in their Western Conference semifinals series against the San Antonio Spurs. Even with them heading back to their home floor in Portland for the next two games, they need as much help as they can possibly muster if they are going to get back into this series and avoid making this a foregone conclusion. They're not going to have all of their help available in Game 3.

Backup point guard Mo Williams has a groin injury that will keep him out of Game 3. Williams was limited to nine minutes in Game 2 and scored four points on 2-of-3 shooting. The Blazers will likely have Earl Watson as the first guard off the bench to replace Damian Lillard when he needs a rest.

Williams has struggled in the playoffs so far, but is a big part of giving the team quality minutes when Lillard is out of the game. He's averaging 23.4 minutes during the postseason, scoring 7.4 points, 1.9 assists, and has made just 37.4 percent of his shots. He's shooting 23.8 percent from downtown as well.

Portland is getting killed with Williams on the court this postseason. He has a net rating of minus-13.0 points per 100 possessions with the offense and defense performing significantly worse with him on the floor against the Rockets and Spurs. During the season, the Blazers basically broke even (plus-0.2 points per 100 possessions) with Williams on the court. He averaged 9.7 points and 4.3 assists in 24.8 minutes while making 41.7 percent of his shots and 36.9 percent of his 3-pointers.
