The penultimate race of the 2023 Formula 1 schedule takes place this weekend as the Las Vegas Grand Prix makes its debut on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. Max Verstappen, who secured his third straight F1 title early last month, is looking to record his sixth victory in a row and 18th in 21 starts this season. The 26-year-old set the Formula 1 record for most consecutive wins earlier this year with a 10-race streak from May 7-Sept. 3. Verstappen is the -250 favorite (risk $250 to win $100) in the latest 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix odds.

Charles Leclerc is priced at +195, George Russell is +1800 and seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton is in a group of three Las Vegas GP contenders at +5000. The Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023 is scheduled to begin Sunday at 1 a.m. ET and the forecast is calling for temperatures in the low 50s. You'll want to check out the F1 at Las Vegas predictions from Micah Roberts, the legendary Vegas bookmaker who pioneered wagering on racing, before locking in any 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix picks of your own.

Roberts was the first to offer expanded NASCAR betting and now hands out NASCAR winners to his followers on SportsLine. Roberts is the nation's premier NASCAR betting expert, and his top pick, Denny Hamlin, won the HighPoint.com 400 on July 23 at +500. He also predicted Martin Truex Jr.'s victory at +650 in the Crayon 301 the previous week and Ross Chastain's triumph at +1000 in the Ally 400 in June. In addition, Roberts correctly called Kyle Larson's win at +650 in the NASCAR All-Star Race in May and nailed the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix winner in March by hitting Tyler Reddick's victory at +1000.

The expert also correctly predicted Chase Elliott to win the YellaWood 500 at +1200 last October and the Jockey Made in America 250 in 2021, nailed the 2021 Coca-Cola 600 winner by hitting Larson's victory at +550 and was on point by targeting Elliott as the winner of the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix at +160 the previous week. Anyone who has followed his picks has cashed ticket after ticket.

Now, Roberts has analyzed the field and odds for Sunday's Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023 race. He's only sharing his winner and leaderboard right here.

2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix expert predictions

One shocker: Roberts is fading Charles Leclerc, even though he is one of the favorites. In fact, Roberts says Leclerc, who has been fourth or better in four of his last seven starts and recorded four podium finishes this season, barely even cracks the top five.

"Leclerc posted three of his five career wins last season, but he hasn't been able to break through this year," Roberts told SportsLine. See who else to fade here.

Another curveball: Roberts is high on Lando Norris, who is listed at +20000 in the latest Las Vegas Grand Prix odds. The 24-year-old Englishman remains in search of the first victory of his Formula 1 career, which began in 2019, but he has been in a groove since the beginning of July. In his last 12 starts, Norris has been runner-up six times, finished third on one occasion and was no worse than eighth in the other five races.

"Norris has had his best F1 season thus far, with seven podium finishes and a fifth-place ranking in points -- both of which are career highs," Roberts told SportsLine. "He's the driver you bet if you don't want to put money on the favorite." See who else to back here.

How to make 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix picks

Roberts is high on a longshot who "has been at his best the last two seasons." This driver is being underestimated by oddsmakers, but anyone who backs him could hit it big. You can only see who it is here.
