Giants' Travis Ishikawa: Signs minor league deal with Giants
Ishikawa signed a minor league deal with the Giants, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
Ishikawa was recently released by the White Sox after slashing just .201/.277/.344 at the Triple-A level and will now try to get a fresh start with the Giants, although there is a good chance he will simply serve as organizational depth.

Ishikawa was released by the White Sox Tuesday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Ishikawa was playing for Triple-A Charlotte, but it seems the White Sox don't have a spot for the first baseman any longer. He could be picked up by another organization looking for infielder depth. Ishikawa slashed a rough .201/.277/.344 during his time with Triple-A Charlotte in 2016.

The White Sox reassigned Ishikawa to minor league camp Saturday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The move comes a day after the disappointing news that Jerry Sands earned the team's final roster spot over Ishikawa. Ishikawa should start the year at Triple-A Charlottte and should be back in the majors if anything happens to Jose Abreu.

The White Sox have yet to announce Ishikawa's fate, but if he remains in the organization, he will most likely begin the year at Triple-A Charlotte. Ishikawa looked to have a better spring than Sands, but the White Sox placed a higher value on Sands' pop and defensive versatility.

Ishikawa is in contention for the White Sox's final roster spot, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Ishikawa's chances of making the roster increased when Adam LaRoche's sudden retirement stripped the club of its backup first baseman. Other guys in consideration include Carlos Sanchez, Jerry Sands, and Leury Garcia. Ishikawa is the most experienced of that bunch, but he also has he least amount of defensive flexibility.

Adam LaRoche's sudden retirement not only left the White Sox without a DH, but they now also lack a backup to Jose Abreu at first. Guys like Melky Cabrera and Avisail Garcia can fill the first hole, but the active roster lacks someone who can fill the latter. Ishikawa is in camp as a NRI, has many years of first base experience, and is off to a nice start this spring. The White Sox may look outside the organization as well.

Ishikawa agreed to a minor league deal with the White Sox on Tuesday which includes an invite to spring training, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Ishikawa had previously agreed to a similar deal with the Mariners less than a month earlier, but it ultimately fell through before becoming official. The 32-year-old hit just .206/.306/.302 in 44 games in the big leagues last season and the White Sox appear to be set with first base depth, so it's unlikely he cracks the Opening Day roster out of spring training.

Travis Ishikawa: Signs minor league deal with Mariners
Ishikawa agreed to a minor league deal with the Mariners on Saturday, which includes an invite to spring training, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports.
The 32-year-old is able to play first base and left field, but is primarily thought of as a good makeup guy to have around at spring training, which was probably a notable factor in the Mariners' decision to bring him in. He hit .206 with one home run in 72 plate appearances last year and should spend the bulk of the season at Triple-A. Ishikawa stands to make $900,000 if he makes the big league roster out of spring training.

Report: Pirates 1B Travis Ishikawa chooses to be free agent
Pirates first baseman Travis Ishikawa will elect to become a free agent, according to SB Nation.
Stuck behind Pedro Alvarez, Mike Morse and Sean Rodriguez on the depth chart, it seemed likely Ishikawa would elect to play elsewhere after joining the Pirates through waivers in the beginning of July. It's unclear where he will play next after he slashed a miserable .206/.306/.302 in 63 at-bats with the Giants and Pirates last season.
