Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: First start in five games
Schneemann started at second base and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 7-2 loss to Seattle.
Schneemann made his first start in five games, and Friday was the first time in five games the Guardians faced a right-hander. He's doing better against righties (.802 OPS) than southpaws (.526), so he should continue on as the strong side of a platoon, but Schneemann has recently struggled, going 14-for-72 (.194) over his last 23 contests.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Losing out on starts vs. lefties
Schneemann is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
The left-handed-hitting Schneemann has posted a .526 OPS against southpaws this season, and he could find himself on the bench more frequently versus same-handed pitching now that the Guardians are back to full strength in the infield and outfield. He'll give way to Angel Martinez at second base Wednesday while the Reds send southpaw Nick Lodolo to the bump.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Taking seat Sunday
Schneemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Schneemann has made five starts against left-handed pitching this season, but he'll hit the bench Sunday with southpaw Brandon Walter taking the mound for Houston. Will Wilson is stepping in at the keystone and batting ninth for Cleveland in the series finale.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Three hits, stolen base in win
Schneemann went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Yankees.
Schneemann extended the Guardians' lead to 3-0 in the first inning with a two-run double before swiping third base for his fourth steal in five attempts this season. It's the first multi-hit game since May 6 for Schneemann -- he entered Wednesday with a .188 average (12-for-64) in his previous 21 games. Overall, the 28-year-old Schneemann is slashing .254/.338/.463 with seven homers, 18 RBI and 19 runs scored across 152 plate appearances this season while serving as Cleveland's primary second baseman.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Grabbing seat Tuesday

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Tees off in loss
Schneemann went 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Dodgers.
Schneemann launched a three-run homer in the fourth inning after the Dodgers raced to an early 4-0 lead. Despite that early success, Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt pinch hit for Schneemann against a lefty in the seventh, limiting him to two plate appearances. He has just 16 at-bats against southpaws in 2025. Schneemann blipped on the fantasy radar in early May but had gone quiet prior to Tuesday's three-run homer. He entered the game batting .175 (7-for-40) with one extra-base hit, one RBI and three runs over 13 games.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Taking seat for series finale
Schneemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Schneemann was included in the lineup the last time the Guardians faced a southpaw starter (Andrew Abbott) back on May 18, but the 28-year-old will retreat to the bench in Detroit while Tarik Skubal takes the hill. With Lane Thomas' recent return from the injured list giving Cleveland an extra right-handed bat in the outfield, utility player Angel Martinez could end up serving as a platoon partner for Schneemann at second base.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Swipes bag in win
Schneemann went 1-for-2 with a stolen base in Saturday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Tigers.
Schneemann has hit safely in seven of his last 10 games, going 7-for-30 (.233) in that span. He's carved out a starting role, primarily at second base, since Brayan Rocchio was sent down to Triple-A Columbus, but Schneemann's bat has cooled off a bit after a stronger start to the month. Overall, he's at a .255/.339/.464 slash line with six home runs, five doubles, one steal, 13 RBI and 16 runs scored across 125 plate appearances.

Schneemann will hit the bench for the first time since May 10, ending a streak of seven consecutive starts. Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Starter at second base
Schneemann started at second base and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 5-0 win over the Brewers.
Schneemann's hot bat since the beginning of May generated more plate appearances for him, and shortstop Brayan Rocchio's demotion to the minors Monday opened up a regular gig. Gabriel Arias will cover short, while Schneemann gets regular starts at second base. Since May 1, Schneemann has a 1.101 OPS with three home runs, two doubles, eight RBI and eight runs scored over 10 contests.

Schneemann pinch hit for third baseman Will Wilson and stayed in the game at second base. The home run was the third in the last four games and fifth overall for Schneemann, who has raked since mid-April. After opening the season with one hit in his first 19 at-bats, he's followed up by slashing .383/.442/.745 with nine extra-base hits, 10 RBI, five walks and 10 runs scored over 53 plate appearances. The 28-year-old has moved around the diamond, mostly playing second base but also getting time at third base, left field and center field.

Schneemann isn't in the lineup for the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Plays hero with late-inning homers
Schneemann went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Getting the start at second base and batting sixth with Jose Ramirez (ankle) needing the day off, Schneemann did his best J-Ram impression in his place. With the Guardians down 3-0 heading into the eighth inning, the 28-year-old utility player took Chad Green for a solo shot before launching a grand slam off Yimi Garcia in the ninth. Schneemann has seen his playing time pick up in recent weeks and has taken advantage, and he's now slashing .276/.344/.552 through 24 games with four homers, eight runs and nine RBI.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Enters for injured teammate
Schneemann entered Friday's game as a pinch runner for Jose Ramirez (ankle) and stayed in the game. He went 1-for-1 with a double and a run scored.
Schneemann replaced Ramirez on first base in the third inning and remained in game at second base while Gabriel Arias moved from second to third. The Guardians have described Ramirez's injury has a minor-grade sprain, which makes it sound like he won't miss much time.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Gaining foothold in everyday lineup
Schneemann will start at second base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Twins.
At least temporarily, Schneemann seems to have supplanted the struggling Brayan Rocchio for a regular spot in Cleveland's middle infield. For the second straight day, Rocchio finds himself on the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Pablo Lopez), while Schneemann has now been included in the lineup in five of the last six matchups with righties. According to Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, manager Stephen Vogt implied the hotter bat is Schneemann, who is slashing .379/.419/.586 dating back to April 13.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Back on bench Monday
Schneemann is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Schneemann will hit the bench after he had picked up starts -- two at second base and one in left field -- in each of the last three contests. The 28-year-old owns a .715 OPS over 49 plate appearances on the season, and while he doesn't appear to have a grasp on a full-time role, he should remain in line for a handful of starts per week against right-handed pitching due to his ability to play multiple infield and outfield spots.

Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Solo shot against Baltimore
Schneemann went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Orioles.
Schneemann got the Guardians on the board in the third inning when he took the first pitch he saw from Tomoyuki Sugano deep to center field for a 395-foot solo homer. It was Schneemann's second home run of the season, and the 28-year-old has gone 5-for-11 with one homer and two RBI over his last three games.

Schneemann went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Royals.
Schneemann was involved in a "little-league home run" in the second inning when his run-producing double led to an errant throw, allowing him to score. The double snapped an 0-for-15 run for Schneeman, who has just two hits and is batting .091.
