Brigham found a decent amount of success in the majors last season with Miami, posting a 3.38 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 24 innings. Brigham had his contract selected Sunday and saw his first action of the year later that day, a 10th inning relief appearance with the Marlins up 6-4. He allowed an unearned run to cross the plate, but was able to hang on for his first career save. Six Marlins relievers now have saves this season with Tanner Scott leading the pack at 12. Fantasy managers will have to pay close attention to see if Brigham shakes up the back end of Miami's bullpen.... See More ... See Less

Marlins' Jeff Brigham: Healthy after two lost seasons
Brigham made a 20-pitch appearance Thursday in a game against Nationals farmhands during the Marlins' minor-league camp, Joe Frisaro of ManOnSecondBaseball.com reports.
Frisaro notes that the outing was Brigham's first game action of any kind since July 26, 2020, when he made a one-inning appearance with the Marlins during the pandemic-shortened campaign. Since then, Brigham had been shut down with a nerve issue in his right biceps that prevented him from pitching at any level in 2021. Miami outrighted Brigham off its 40-man roster in October, but he rejoined the organization on a minor-league deal this winter and looks set to open the campaign with Triple-A Jacksonville.... Marlins' Jeff Brigham: Moves back to 60-day IL
The Marlins placed Brigham on the 60-day injured list Wednesday for an unspecified reason.
The Marlins had previously activated Brigham from the 60-day IL on Oct. 31, after he had previously been placed on the list in early August. The Marlins shut Brigham down at around the same time that they experience a team-wide COVID-19 outbreak, but it's unclear if the right-hander tested positive. An explanation behind his latest move to the IL isn't known, but Brigham will likely miss the first two months of the 2021 campaign as a result. Brigham is healthy and ready for summer training camp after recovering from a biceps injury, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.
The right-hander didn't pitch at all during Grapefruit League play due to the injury, but Brigham appears ready to go now. After posting a 4.46 ERA and 39:14 K:BB for the Marlins last year, he's likely headed for a low-leverage role in the bullpen, but his prior experience as a starter in the minors could allow him to emerge as one of the team's key long relievers early in the season as the members of the rotation build their stamina back up.... Marlins' Jeff Brigham: Progresses to mound work
Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill said Monday that Brigham (biceps) has advanced to throwing off a mound in recent weeks, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Brigham was unable to do any throwing in spring training while contending with a right biceps injury, but MLB's nearly four-month shutdown has provided him with extra time to recover without having to miss games. However, since he hasn't had the opportunity to step in against hitters in live batting practice or simulated games, Brigham will likely enter the Marlins' "summer camp" this week behind his fellow pitchers in the buildup process for the 60-game regular season. He'll still have around three weeks before Opening Day to fully move past the injury, so Brigham has a chance to be ready to go.... See More ... See Less
