Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes bag in win
Turang went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's victory over the Marlins. Turang stole second base after reaching on an infield single in the seventh inning and was then driven home on a Tyrone Taylor double to put the Brewers up 4-2. It was the second baseman's fifth steal this month and the fourth in his last five starts. However, he's still batting just .243 in September with four RBI and five runs scored, while his last home run came back on Aug. 7.... See More ... See Less -

Turang is not in the lineup Wednesday versus the Marlins. Andruw Monasterio will play second base and serve as the Brewers' leadoff man as they match up against left-hander Braxton Garrett. Turang has batted just .182 with a .456 OPS in 62 plate appearances versus lefties this season.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Gets rare day off Monday
Turang is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins. The lefty-hitting Turang will take a seat against Marlins southpaw Jesus Luzardo, marking the rookie's first day off since Aug. 16. Andruw Monasterio will get the nod at second base while Turang's streak of 21 consecutive starts comes to an end.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Records three hits, swipes two bags
Turang went 3-for-5 with one run scored and two stolen bases in Friday's win over the Yankees. Turang showed off his wheels Friday by stealing two bags and mixing in an infield single among his three hits. The 23-year-old has 20 stolen bases in 24 attempts this season, but the three hits only lifted his batting average to a paltry .222. While the speed is nice, Turang has produced only 17 extra-base hits on the season in 356 at-bats, and none since Aug. 7.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against lefty
Turang isn't in the Brewers' lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers. With left-handed ace Clayton Kershaw set to start on the mound for Los Angeles, Turang will take a seat for the beginning of Wednesday's game. Andruw Monasterio will shift to second base in Turang's place, allowing Brian Anderson to start at third.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Fills box score Monday
Turang went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 12-1 win over the Rockies. Turang did a little bit of everything in this productive effort. He's hit well in August, going 9-for-20 (.450) with two homers, three steals and seven RBI over seven contests this month. The infielder is now slashing .225/.297/.345 with six homers, 14 steals, 27 RBI, 28 runs scored, eight doubles and three triples over 296 plate appearances this season. He got the start at shortstop Monday with Willy Adames resting, but Turang has seen the bulk of his playing time at second base lately.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Launches fifth homer
Turang went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and an additional run scored in Thursday's win over the Pirates. Turang extended Milwaukee's lead to 8-1 with a three-run homer off Mitch Keller in the fifth inning. It's Turang's fifth long ball of the year and just his second in his last 50 games. While he hasn't provided frequent power, the rookie infielder has been swinging the bat well, going 9-for-20 (.450) over his last six games. Overall, Turang is slashing .221/.289/.333 with 27 runs scored, 25 RBI and 12 stolen bases across 284 plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Provides offense in win
Turang went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI and two runs in Tuesday's 6-4 win against the Nationals. Turang still has just one extra-base hit in his past eight games, but he delivered plenty of value on his two singles. It's just the fifth occasion this season the 23-year-old has collected multiple RBI in a game and just the fourth time he's scored multiple runs. Turang has come alive at the plate over the past week, having gone 7-for-19 with a double, two walks and two runs in addition to Tuesday's run production.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Homers in loss
Turang went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Atlanta. Turang has seen fairly steady playing time since the All-Star break, but he's gone just 4-for-24 (.167) over his last nine games. His homer Sunday was his first extra-base hit in that span. For the season, he's slashing .203/.272/.313 with four homers, 20 RBI, 20 runs scored and 11 stolen bases through 250 plate appearances. Turang appears to have at least a strong-side platoon role at second base, and he should remain in the lineup regularly while Owen Miller and Andruw Monasterio cover the corner infield spots with Rowdy Tellez (forearm) and Brian Anderson (back) sidelined.... Brewers' Brice Turang: Sits against lefty
Turang is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies. Turang will head to the bench as Brewers manager Craig Counsell goes heavy on right-handed bats against Philadelphia southpaw Cristopher Sanchez. Jahmai Jones will pick up the starting nod at second base in place of Turang.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: On bench Wednesday
Turang is absent from the lineup Wednesday versus the Cubs. Andruw Monasterio is playing second base and batting eighth with the Cubs throwing southpaw Justin Steele. The left-handed-hitting Turang has slashed just .204/.255/.304 across 204 total major-league plate appearances this year and stands 2-for-25 (.080) against left-handed pitching.... See More ... Brewers' Brice Turang: Returns to majors
Milwaukee recalled Turang from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday. Turang made the Opening Day roster out of Brewers camp this spring but got demoted to the minors in early June after slashing just .205/.254/.307 across his first 177 major-league plate appearances. He then put up a .927 OPS with three homers and two steals in 15 games at Triple-A to push his way back to the bigs. The 23-year-old has good speed and a bit of power, though he might not play regularly enough to offer mixed-league fantasy appeal.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Optioned to Nashville
Milwaukee optioned Turang to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. Willy Adames (concussion) has been activated from the 7-day injured list and will reclaim duties as Milwaukee's everyday shortstop, leaving no room for Turang to stick around as a regular in the middle infield. Turang made the Brewers' Opening Day roster and a had a productive game in Tuesday's win over the Orioles, but the 23-year-old carries a weak .205/.254/.307 slash line through his first 177 major-league plate appearances.... Brewers' Brice Turang: Steals bag in win
Turang went 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk, a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Orioles. Turang laced a triple to right in the fourth but was left stranded and later provided a clutch RBI single in the eighth to tie the game up at three. Tuesday's game was Turang's first with a hit since May 27, which also was coincidentally the last time he tallied an extra-base knock. The growing pains have been apparent for the 23-year-old rookie, as he had tallied just one hit over his last 41 at-bats before his triple. Turang now sits at a slash line of .205/.254/.307 with three homers, 14 RBI, 16 runs, nine steals and an 11:48 BB:K over 177 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Hits bench versus lefty
Turang is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds. The lefty-hitting Turang will hit the bench against Reds southpaw Andrew Abbott, but the young infielder previously sat out the series opener Friday, when the Brewers opposed a right-hander (Graham Ashcraft). Turang still appears to have a tentative hold on a regular role in the middle infield when the Brewers face right-handed pitching, but with Luis Urias (hamstring) returning from the injured list Monday and Willy Adames (concussion) likely on track to be activated Thursday, Turang and Andruw Monasterio will both soon see their playing time second base and shortstop take a major hit.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting versus lefty
Turang is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Cincinnati. With southpaw Brandon Williamson on the hill for the Reds, the left-handed hitting Turang will begin this one on the bench. Owen Miller and Andruw Monasterio will form the Brew Crew's double-play combo.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: At shortstop Wednesday
Turang is starting at shortstop and batting seventh Wednesday versus the Blue Jays. Turang has lost a lot of potential reps at second base to the hot-hitting Owen Miller, but he could continue to be a regular presence at short for the Brewers while Willy Adames recovers from a concussion. Turang holds a brutal .215/.264/.315 slash line on the season, though he has tallied three homers and seven steals.... See More ... See Less
