Proctor was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday. Proctor spent the final few days of the regular season in the majors and went 2-for-18 with a homer, six RBI and three runs over seven games with the Giants. However, he'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster now that the offseason is underway.... See More ... See Less

Giants' Ford Proctor: Grand slam for first homer
Proctor went 1-for-2 with a grand slam in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Rockies. Proctor made the start at second base Thursday. He hit a grand slam in his first at-bat, which was his first home run and second hit in the majors since his first call-up Sept. 24. He's hit 12 homers in each of his last two minor-league seasons. Proctor should continue to get some playing time as an infielder, as his natural position of catcher is occupied by Joey Bart and Austin Wynns.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Ford Proctor: Called up Saturday
Proctor was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday. Proctor was traded from the Rays to the Giants at the beginning of August and will make his major-league debut Saturday against Arizona. He's starting at the keystone and batting eighth against the Diamondbacks and will likely have a chance to carve out playing time in the big leagues after Luis Gonzalez (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list.... Giants' Ford Proctor: Traded to Giants
Proctor was traded to the Giants from the Rays on Monday in exchange for pitcher Jeremy Walker, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The Giants were looking for catching depth and, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, were willing to part with one of their many pitching arms in Walker.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Ford Proctor: Sent to minors
Proctor was optioned to minor-league camp Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Proctor was in big-league camp with the Rays after being added to the 40-man roster in November, but he won't make the Opening Day roster. The 25-year-old spent the 2021 campaign at Double-A Montgomery and hit .247/.383/.425 with 12 home runs, 54 runs and 48 RBI in 97 games.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Ford Proctor: Added to 40-man roster
Proctor was added to the Rays' 40-man roster Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Proctor, who turns 25 in a couple weeks, can play all over the infield and logged a 127 wRC+ at Double-A last season. He can do a little bit of everything, but is most likely a utility infielder, especially in this organization.... See More ... See Less

John Shea@JohnSheaHey12/31/1969If @SFGiants somehow re-enter these wacky Carlos Correa sweepstakes and sign him, he should play third base in 2023, as was plan with @Mets, and Brandon Crawford should play SS — especially after @bcraw35’s spectacular defense in final weeks after he moved on from knee injury.

Chris Haft@goodforball12/31/1969Happy 75th birthday to a man I greatly admire, who brought me unforgettable football thrills and who lit the spark within me to want to attend (and graduate from) Stanford University. Thank you, Jim Plunkett, for being such an inspiration.
