  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Having strong spring

Hall has impressed in Grapefruit League action this spring, homering four times in 10 games while slashing .310/.375/.759. The Phillies will have designated hitter at-bats available for a good portion of the season with Bryce Harper set to miss about half the campaign following Tommy John surgery, and Hall seems set to be the primary option against righties. The 27-year-old filled in capably enough as a part-time DH last season, homering nine times in 42 games while slashing a lopsided .250/.282/.522, good for a 120 wRC+. His 3.5 percent walk rate and 31.0 percent strikeout rate made for a worrisome combination, so his 3:5 BB:K this spring is an encouraging sign.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Not on wild-card roster

Hall was left off the Phillies' roster for the NL Wild Card Series against the Cardinals on Friday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Hall was called up by Philadelphia on Sept. 30 but won't be on the active roster for the start of the playoffs. The 27-year-old had a .250/.282/.522 slash line with nine home runs and 16 RBI in 42 games this year and could be in the mix for a roster spot later in the postseason should the Phillies advance.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Called up Friday

Hall was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Hall will return to the big leagues after being sent down Aug. 22. The 27-year-old has posted a .264 batting average with nine homers, 16 RBI and 19 runs scored over 129 at-bats over 38 games with the Phillies this season. Yairo Munoz was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Headed to Triple-A

Hall was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following Monday's game against the Reds, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Hall has struggled to see consistent at-bats of late, recording just four at-bats since Wednesday. Since he's limited to first base and designated hitter, Hall's playing time was destined to dwindle further once Bryce Harper (thumb) likely makes his return from the 60-day injured list next week. Per Gelb, Hall should be back in the big leagues once rosters expand Sept. 2, but the rookie will head to the minors to stay sharp in the meantime.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Remains out of lineup

Hall isn't starting Monday against the Reds. Hall is on the bench for a fourth consecutive game since Kyle Schwarber has served exclusively as the designated hitter since returning from a multi-game absence due to a calf injury. The rookie has slashed .302/.333/.628 with four home runs, two doubles, five runs and five RBI over 14 games since the start of August, so he's at least made it tough for the Phillies to justify keeping him out of the lineup.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Sleeper hitters for Week 21 (Aug. 22-28)

Hall hasn't gotten much attention in Fantasy given that he only plays against righties, but the power production has certainly been there with nine home runs in 129 at-bats. Eight of those home runs have come at home, where the Phillies are playing all seven of their games this week, and it just so happens that six are against righties.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Sitting again

Hall is not in Sunday's lineup against the Mets. Hall has been out of the lineup for three consecutive games, as Kyle Schwarber has occupied the designated-hitter role since his return to the lineup. As long as that continues, Hall will have a difficult time finding regular at-bats due to his defensive limitations and Rhys Hoskins being locked in at first base.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Drills ninth homer

Hall went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 11-4 win over the Reds. Hall got the Phillies' scoring started on the night with two outs in the third inning, when he took T.J. Zeuch deep to left field before Nick Castellanos followed him with another solo shot. The rookie designated hitter is getting on base at an underwhelming .298 clip this season, but he's been solid roster filler in traditional 5x5 fantasy leagues with a .264 average, nine home runs, 19 runs and 16 RBI in 131 plate appearances through his first 35 big-league games.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Held out Monday

Hall is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds. Hall started the last five games, but he went just 3-for-17 (.176) over that span, so he will get a mental break Monday. Alec Bohm will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter, and Edmundo Sosa will take Bohm's place at third base.

Hall is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta. • Phillies' Darick Hall: On bench against lefty

Hall is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Miami, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. With lefty Trevor Rogers on the hill for Miami, the lefty-hitting Hall will take a seat for the Phillies' final contest before the All-Star break. Johan Camargo steps in at first base as a replacement in the lineup for Hall, while Rhys Hoskins serves as Philadelphia's designated hitter. Since being called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in late June, Hall is hitting .262 with four home runs, eight RBI and seven additional runs in 16 games.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: First career hit, homer

Hall went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI on Thursday against Atlanta. Hall was recalled to make his major-league debut Wednesday and has been in the lineup as the team's cleanup hitter in both games since. He contributed to the Phillies' offensive outburst with a leadoff home run in the fourth inning to tally both his first big-league hit and homer. He followed that up with a two-run shot off Mike Ford in the eighth frame. Hall maintained a .894 OPS across 315 plate appearances with Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to being recalled, and he appears to have a clear path to playing time with Bryce Harper (thumb) sidelined.

  • Phillies' Darick Hall: Set to join major-league roster

The Phillies will select Hall's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Hall is among Philadelphia's top prospects and will provide an extra left-handed bat for the big-league club. The 26-year-old has performed well at Lehigh Valley this year, slashing .269/.346/.548 with 20 home runs, 67 RBI, 47 runs and five stolen bases. He'll likely serve mainly as infield depth early in his major-league career but should have a chance to carve out at-bats against right-handed pitchers.
