Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Fans eight in dominant win
Schlittler (9-5) earned the win against the Rays on Monday, allowing one run on four hits while striking out eight across eight innings. He did not issue a walk.
Schlittler entered Monday's game coming off one of the worst starts of his career in a loss to the Tigers this past Tuesday, when he allowed six runs and yielded a career-high four homers. He bounced back in style in Tampa Bay, pitching through the eighth inning for the second time this season while limiting the Rays to just four baserunners and one run that came on an RBI single from Richie Palacios in the fifth. Schlittler has allowed one earned run or less in 14 of 19 starts this season, and he ranks second in the majors in ERA (2.01) and fourth in both WHIP (0.93) and strikeouts (131) across 112 innings. He's slated to start this weekend on the road against the Nationals, which will be Schlittler's last turn in the rotation before the All-Star break.

Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Coughs up four homers in loss
Schlittler (8-5) took the loss against the Tigers on Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts over four innings.
Schlittler surrendered a career-high four homers, one of which was almost robbed by Spencer Jones, in his shortest start of the campaign. The outing marked just the second time this season the 25-year-old allowed four earned runs or more, and he'll still finish June with a 3.38 ERA over six starts. He owns a 2.08 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 123:21 K:BB across 104 innings overall and will look to rebound in a road matchup with the Rays next week.

Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Let down by defense in loss
Schlittler (8-4) took the loss against Boston on Thursday, allowing four runs -- all unearned -- on five hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over five innings.
Schlittler survived two Yankees errors -- including one of his own -- in the first inning, but the same didn't hold true in the fifth. In that frame, the right-hander allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base but then got Wilyer Abreu to strike out. It looked like Schlittler might get out of the inning unscathed when Willson Contreras hit a sharp grounder to third base, but Amed Rosario couldn't field the ball, and the Red Sox ended up scoring four times. Though that was enough to hand Schlittler the loss, the emerging star still lowered his ERA to an AL-best 1.62 and got nine punchouts along with 16 whiffs. He's allowed just two earned runs across his past four starts (23.2 innings). Schlittler will try to get back into the win column his next time out, which is lined up to be a home matchup against Detroit.

Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Dominates with career-high 13 Ks
Schlittler (8-3) picked up the win Friday, allowing four hits over six scoreless innings in a 5-0 victory over the Reds. He struck out 13 without walking a batter.
Only one Cincinnati runner even got past second base against the 25-year-old right-hander, who set a new career high in strikeouts while reeling off his second straight quality start and his 10th of the season. Schlittler is heading toward the second half of the season as one of the clear favorites for the AL Cy Young Award, as he leads the Junior Circuit in ERA (1.71) and is second in WHIP (0.89) and strikeouts (109) while being tied with Michael Wacha for the lead in QS. Schlittler will look to stay locked in for his next outing, which is set to come on the road next week in Detroit in a potential marquee matchup against the reigning two-time Cy Young winner, Tarik Skubal.

Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Stingy in no-decision Saturday
Schlittler didn't factor into the decision Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jays, allowing one run on six hits and four walks over seven innings. He struck out seven.
The right-hander dialed up his ninth quality start of the season on 101 pitches (65 strikes), but Schlittler's four free passes were a season high as he issued more than two walks in an outing for the first time since May 4. The breakout star will take a 1.82 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 96:18 K:BB through 89 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Reds.

Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Rebounds Sunday
Schlittler did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing a run on four hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
It was an encouraging bounce-back showing from Schlittler after he gave up five runs in 4.1 innings in a loss to Cleveland his last time out. The right-hander blanked the Red Sox for five innings before giving up a lone run on a Willson Contreras two-out double in the sixth. Most encouraging was Schlittler's fastball velocity, which averaged 97.5 MPH, up from the 96.8 he averaged against the Guardians. Schlittler's ERA now sits at an AL-best 1.87 with a 0.87 WHIP and 89:14 K:BB across 14 starts (82 innings). He's currently slated to face the Blue Jays on the road his next time out.
