  • Brewers' Jared Koenig: Recalled from Triple-A

The Brewers recalled Koenig from Triple-A Nashville on Sunday. Koenig is back with the Brewers after being optioned by the team April 17. He hasn't given up a run in each of his last three appearances with Nashville, striking out six batters while walking two over 3.2 innings in that span. The move corresponds with Milwaukee placing DL Hall (knee) on the 15-day injured list.

  • Brewers' Jared Koenig: Sent back to Nashville

The Brewers optioned Koenig to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. He'll cede his spot in the Milwaukee bullpen to right-hander Tobias Myers, whose contract was selected from Nashville ahead of Wednesday's series finale versus San Diego. After being called up from Nashville on Sunday, Koenig proceeded to pitch in relief in both of the first two games of the series with San Diego, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings and striking out two while allowing three hits and no walks.

  • Brewers' Jared Koenig: Minors pact with Brewers

Koenig signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Koenig reached the majors with Oakland in 2022, but he spent all of 2023 in the minors working as a reliever for the Padres' Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. He had a 5.00 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 48 strikeouts in 45 innings over 36 appearances at Triple-A.

  • Padres' Jared Koenig: Inks MiLB deal with San Diego

Koenig signed a minor-league contract Tuesday with the Padres. Koenig was non-tendered by the Athletics back in November after posting an ugly 5.72 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB over his first 39.1 major-league innings last season. The 29-year-old southpaw will function as organizational pitching depth for San Diego in 2023.

  • Jared Koenig: Non-tendered by Oakland

The A's declined to tender Koenig a contract for 2023. The lefty tried to get by with finesse last season -- he notched just 22 strikeouts in 39.1 innings in the majors -- but the results were ugly. Koenig spent a lot of time in independent ball and is almost 29 years old. His big-league future is hazy.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Called up Friday

Koenig was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday. Koenig was sent down by the Athletics at the end of August, and he posted a 9.28 ERA and 1.87 WHIP in 10.2 innings over three appearances following his demotion. In spite of his lackluster performance, he'll rejoin the major-league club after Sam Moll (shoulder) was placed on the injured list Friday. Koenig has served as a starter in five of his six big-league appearances this year but will likely be a multi-inning option out of the Athletics' bullpen for now.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Sent back to minors

Koenig was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Koenig was called up by the A's on Friday and will head back to Las Vegas after firing three scoreless frames that same day. The 28-year-old has started in five of six appearances in the majors this year and has a 5.72 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 14:15 K:BB over 28.1 innings.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Bound for Triple-A

The Athletics optioned Koenig to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday. Koenig wasn't going to be available for Sunday's series finale in Houston after starting and taking the loss while covering seven innings Saturday, so Oakland opted to send him down to the minors. Adam Oller was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move and will pick up the start Sunday. One of Oller or Koenig should have a good chance at sticking around as Oakland's No. 5 starter coming out of the All-Star break.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Slated to start Saturday

Koenig is listed as the probable starter for Saturday's game against the Astros, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Koenig was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday and will make his fifth career major-league start Saturday. The southpaw posted a 6.38 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 18.1 innings over his first four starts with the Athletics this year.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Back up with big club

The Athletics recalled Koenig from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. Koenig was demoted in late June after posting a 6.38 ERA and 1.75 WHIP through four starts. It's unclear whether he'll be starting games or pitching in long relief during this latest big-league stint.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Headed for Triple-A

The Athletics optioned Koenig to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Oakland hasn't appointed an immediate replacement in the rotation for Koenig, who turned in a 6.38 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 10:11 K:BB across 18.1 innings in his four starts with the big club following his promotion from Las Vegas earlier this month. Reliever Sam Selman was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Picks up first win

Koenig (1-2) earned the win against the Royals on Sunday, allowing zero runs on two hits while striking out none and walking four across 5.2 innings. Despite not striking out any batters and walking four, Koenig was able to pick up a win Sunday. He limited the Royals to two hits and threw 52 of 89 pitches for strikes across 5.2 frames. The lefty allowed 10 runs across eight innings in his first two appearances, but thanks to a clean sheet against the Royals, Koenig has lowered his ERA to 6.59.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Tagged for six runs in loss

Koenig (0-2) was charged with the loss Tuesday in Boston after surrendering six runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and two walks across four innings. The 28-year-old generated only six swinging strikes on 96 pitches (60 strikes), and the big blow against him was Rafael Devers' three-run homer during the third inning. Koenig has now given up 10 runs on 14 hits over eight frames in his first two big-league starts, and it remains to be seen if he'll receive another turn through the starting rotation for Oakland.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Staying in rotation for now

Koenig will make at least one more turn through the rotation, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Koenig wasn't particularly effective during his major-league debut against Atlanta on Wednesday, as he allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three in four innings to take the loss. The southpaw tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Boston on Tuesday.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Contract selected prior to start

Koenig's contract was selected by the Athletics ahead of Wednesday's start in Atlanta. Koenig began the season at Triple-A Las Vegas and posted a 2.21 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 53 innings over nine appearances (eight starts). He'll make his major-league debut Wednesday and should have a chance to remain in the Athletics' rotation after Zach Logue was optioned to Las Vegas on Sunday.

  • Athletics' Jared Koenig: Making big-league debut Wednesday

Koenig will make his major-league debut Wednesday in Atlanta, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. He has a 2.21 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 53 innings across nine appearances (eight starts) at Triple-A Las Vegas, which is quite impressive considering the hitter-friendly conditions of the Pacific Coast League. Koenig is taking the rotation spot of Zach Logue, who was recently demoted to Triple-A.
