  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Smacks solo homer

Sosa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Twins. Sosa got the White Sox on the board in the second inning, when he took the first pitch of the at-bat from Chris Paddack deep to left-center field for a solo homer. It was Sosa's second home run of the season (the first of which took place on Opening Day), and he's recorded at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games, going 12-for-36 (.333) over that span.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Getting day off

Sosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins. Thanks to Josh Rojas (toe) being on the shelf all season, Sosa has taken hold of a near-everyday role in the White Sox infield, starting in 20 of the team's first 23 games. Sosa will take a seat Wednesday for just the fourth time in 2025, and unless he's used off the bench, he'll put his season-long eight-game hit streak on hold.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Bright spot for White Sox

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a double Wednesday against the Athletics. Sosa's overall numbers aren't particularly impressive, but he quietly hit well during the White Sox's home stand. Across five starts, he's gone 6-for-19 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Sosa can't be counted on for much power, but he should remain a regular so long as Josh Rojas (toe) is sidelined.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Hitting bench Sunday

Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers. Sosa will head to the bench after he started at second base in the first two games of the series. The 25-year-old has cobbled together a .200/.200/.360 slash line through 25 plate appearances on the season, and he could be at risk of losing playing time with Brooks Baldwin likely to see more reps in the infield with outfielder Mike Tauchman (hamstring) returning from the injured list Sunday.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Making case for role

Sosa has gone 8-for-22 with four walks and six strikeouts in Cactus League action. Sosa entered spring training with a strong chance to make the Opening Day roster because he was out of minor-league options. His performance on the field has further helped his case, though it is worth noting that he has only two extra-base hits with no home runs. Sosa doesn't have a clear role in the lineup, but he closed the 2024 campaign with a 1.018 OPS across his final 21 games, giving him more potential than many of the White Sox's projected regulars.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Strong finish to season

Sosa went 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run, three RBI and three runs Sunday against the Tigers. Sosa clubbed a three-run blast in the third inning, his eighth homer of the season. The three hits and three RBI matched his season highs. Over his final 14 games, Sosa posted eight multi-hit performances, going 20-for-49 (.408) with four homers, two doubles, 10 RBI and 10 runs.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Ending season well

Sosa went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Angels. Sosa delivered a two-RBI double and came around to score in a seven-run fifth inning for the White Sox. He's started 19 of the team's 22 games in September and delivered a .375 batting average with three home runs, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored. That could be enough to position Sosa for a starting role to begin 2025, though Brooks Baldwin (wrist) could factor in at second base as well.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Absent from lineup

Sosa is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Angels. Sosa had started each of the previous 10 games at second base but will begin this one on the bench. Nicky Lopez will handle the keystone and bat leadoff for the White Sox.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Seven-game hitting streak

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Guardians. Sosa played his part in a four-run rally in the third inning with an RBI single before also coming around to score. The performance extended his hitting streak to seven games, during which Sosa has hit .407 with two doubles, four runs scored and three RBI. He should get regular run at second base so long as Brooks Baldwin (wrist) is sidelined.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Resting Friday

Sosa is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets. After making 12 consecutive starts (eight at second base, four at third base), Sosa will take a seat Friday. Nicky Lopez will handle the keystone while Miguel Vargas plays third base.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Exiting starting nine Wednesday

Sosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees. Sosa had batted first or second in each of the past three games, but he failed to provide a spark near the top of the lineup, going 1-for-12 at the plate. Though the White Sox probably aren't ready to pull the plug on Sosa as a near-everyday player just yet, the 24-year-old will head to the bench in the series finale nonetheless.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sent down to minors

The White Sox optioned Sosa to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Sosa had a stretch recently with five straight multi-hit games, but he finished the first half going just 2-for-22 across his last six contests and has managed just a .624 OPS on the season. Nick Senzel will take Sosa's spot on the roster and could also replace him as the White Sox's everyday third baseman.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Hitting streak reaches eight games

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Sunday against the Marlins. Sosa extended his hitting streak to eight games, six of which have been multi-hit performances. Across those eight games, he's gone 15-for-34 with a pair of home runs, six RBI and six runs scored. Sosa also swiped his first bag since June 10.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Stays red hot

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an RBI single during Thursday's 8-4 loss to Cleveland. Sosa logged multiple hits for a fifth straight outing, saving the streak with a solo homer in the ninth inning off Nick Sandlin. The 24-year-old Sosa had gone yard only twice in his first 38 games, but he has matched that number during the hit streak. Sosa is slashing .252/.287/.392 over 151 plate appearances this season.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Active in win

Sosa went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Rockies. Sosa singled in the third inning, hit a two-run home run in the fifth and then walked and scored in the eighth. Entering Saturday, Sosa was in a 2-for-33 slump, but he broke out of it in a big way. On the season, the 24-year-old is now hitting .218 with three homers, 11 RBI and eight runs scored over 132 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Absent from lineup Sunday

Sosa is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Tigers. Sosa will get his first breather Sunday since June 13. In the eight games since, he's gone 7-for-30 with two doubles, one home run and four RBI. Danny Mendick will start at third base Sunday and bat eighth against Tigers right-hander Reese Olson.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Recalled from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. It's the corresponding move for the demotion of Bryan Ramos, who was optioned Thursday. Sosa has struggled mightily during his time in the majors over the last three seasons, slashing just .177/.200/.304 in 75 games. Theoretically, there is playing time available on the White Sox infield, but there's no indication that Sosa will see much of it.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Heading to Triple-A

Sosa will be optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Sosa has struggled to a .132 average with 13 strikeouts over 38 at-bats in 12 contests with the White Sox this season and he'll now get a chance to reset with the Triple-A squad. Danny Mendick is expected to have his contract selected from Charlotte and join Chicago's major-league roster Monday.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Idle Saturday

Sosa isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against Philadelphia. Sosa is 0-for-8 in his last three games, so he'll get a chance to clear his head Saturday. While he sits, Braden Shewmake will pick up a start at third base and bat ninth.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Steps in for injured Moncada

Sosa will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Guardians. Sosa went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored while starting at second base in Tuesday's 7-5 win, but he looks as though he could be in store for an everyday role at the hot corner moving forward. The White Sox placed Yoan Moncada on the 10-day injured list with a left adductor strain that's expected to keep him sidelined for 3-to-6 months, and Sosa will get the first chance to replace him in the lineup.
