Astros' Parker Mushinski: Rejoins big club
Mushinski was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was sent to Sugar Land on Aug. 21 and will rejoin the MLB roster with Ryne Stanek (ankle) landing on the injured list. Mushinski has appeared in 12 big-league games this season and has a 4.73 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB over 13.1 innings.

Houston optioned Ronel Blanco to Triple-A in a corresponding move, with Mushinski set to provide the Astros with a fresh arm out of the bullpen since Blanco wasn't scheduled to make another turn through the rotation before the All-Star break anyway. Mushinski opened the season on the Astros' injured list due to a lumbar spine muscle spasm, but he was cleared to start his rehab assignment with Sugar Land on April 6. However, after four appearances with the affiliate, he was pulled off the assignment and shut down for a few weeks before reporting back to Sugar Land just over a week ago. Based on his recent form, Mushinski appears healthy and ready to rejoin the Houston bullpen, but it's unclear if the Astros are eager to option another player to the minors just to make room for a low-leverage relief arm.
