Philadelphia optioned Brogdon to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Jose Alvarado (elbow) has been activated off the injured list in a corresponding move. Brogdon gave up two earned runs in one inning of relief in his most recent appearance and holds a 4.03 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 29 major-league innings this year.

Brogdon earned a save against the Marlins on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one batter over one inning.
Brogdon entered in the ninth inning with Philadelphia up by two runs and immediately allowed the lead to be halved on a Jacob Stallings solo homer. He surrendered a single to the next batter but rebounded to retire the next three Marlins and secure the save. Seranthony Dominguez (triceps) is on the injured list and David Robertson threw 65 pitches over the past three days, which explains why Brogdon -- who had only one save coming into Wednesday -- was called upon to close. He isn't likely to see many more save opportunities moving forward.

Phillies' Connor Brogdon: Notches first save of 2022
Brogdon struck out one in a perfect 10th inning Friday to record his first save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Pirates.
Brad Hand worked the seventh inning and Seranthony Dominguez the ninth, leaving Brogdon to protect the lead the Phillies claimed in the top of the 10th. The right-hander didn't disappoint and needed only eight pitches (seven strikes) to breeze through the top of the Pirates' order. Brogdon has been one of the most reliable arms in the Philadelphia bullpen of late despite spending time on the COVID-19 list, posting a 1.42 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 12:0 K:BB through 12.2 innings since the beginning of June with two wins and three holds, in addition to Friday's save.

Brogdon has been on the COVID-19 injured list for just over two weeks. He struck out two batters in a scoreless rehab appearance Thursday but now seems to be dealing with a minor forearm issue. Phillies manager Joe Girardi said Brogdon is scheduled to make his third Grapefruit League appearance Wednesday against the Tigers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Brogdon reported to camp with a clean bill of health after finishing the 2021 campaign on the injured list with a groin issue, but he hasn't looked particularly sharp in his limited spring action to date. Over two relief appearances, Brogdon has given up two earned runs on two hits and four walks across 1.1 innings, with Zolecki noting that the right-hander's average fastball velocity has been down a few ticks from his 2021 average of 96 miles per hour. The Phillies haven't suggested that Brogdon is dealing with any sort of physical issue, but his poor form so far this spring might mean that he'll have to settle for lower-leverage work when the regular season begins.
