Cyr (shoulder) elected to become a free agent Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. Cyr was pushed off the Dodgers' 40-man roster last week and has now opted to test the open market. The 30-year-old right-hander dealt with shoulder issues throughout the 2023 season while struggling to a 6.16 ERA in 19 innings of work at the Triple-A level. He made only two appearances in the majors.... See More ... See Less

Dodgers' Tyler Cyr: Outrighted to Triple-A
The Dodgers outrighted Cyr (shoulder) to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Cyr made only two appearances in the majors this season and finished the year on the 60-day injured list because of a shoulder impingement. The 30-year-old right-hander will not be part of the 40-man roster in Los Angeles leading into the offseason.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Tyler Cyr: Beginning rehab assignment
Cyr (shoulder) began a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Saturday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. A right shoulder impingement sent Cyr to the injured list in late May, and he's now set to return to game action after nearly three months. The Dodgers haven't specified how long they plan on keeping Cyr on assignment, but a return before the end of August is possible.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Tyler Cyr: Placed on 15-day IL
Cyr was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right shoulder impingement, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Cyr had logged two scoreless relief appearances with the Dodgers since being selected to the MLB roster on Friday. It's unclear at this point how long he might be sidelined.... See More ... Dodgers' Tyler Cyr: Breezes in Dodgers debut
Cyr pitched a perfect inning, striking out one batter against St. Louis on Friday. Cyr's first appearance as a Dodger came in the ninth inning with his team up 5-0. The right-hander retired the side in order on just 12 pitches, with his first out being a punchout of Nolan Arenado. Cyr pitched well in stints with Oakland and Philadelphia last season and could stick around in Los Angeles' bullpen, though he'll likely work in low-leverage situations for the time being.... Dodgers' Tyler Cyr: Reassigned to MiLB camp
Cyr was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Dodgers on Thursday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Cyr was solid in the majors last season with Oakland and Philadelphia, allowing four earned runs over 13.1 frames while striking out 16 batters. He got roughed up a bit during spring training and will head to Triple-A with a solid shot at getting called up mid-season.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Tyler Cyr: Signs minor-league deal
Cyr signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Cyr made 12 relief appearances last season for the Phillies and Athletics, posting a 2.70 ERA in his first taste of the big leagues at age 29. It's not much of a track record, and Cyr won't be anything more than a non-roster invitee this spring, but he'll have a chance to earn a roster spot if he proves his strong debut was no fluke.... Tyler Cyr: Released by Oakland
Cyr was released by the Athletics on Tuesday. Cyr was designated for assignment and handed his release papers after going unclaimed. The right-hander made 11 appearances for Oakland with a 2.08 ERA over 13 innings of work.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Tyler Cyr: Records first win
Cyr (1-0) recorded the win in a victory against the Rangers on Wednesday, firing 1.2 scoreless innings during which he issued a walk and recorded a strikeout. Cyr extended an impressive early tenure with the Athletics via Wednesday's showing, which saw him record five outs on an efficient 23 pitches overall. The 28-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Phillies on Aug. 24 and summoned to the majors after four appearances with Triple-A Las Vegas, and he's now generated Wednesday's win, a 1.35 ERA, an 0.60 WHIP and a 7:1 K:BB across the 6.2 innings covering his first four appearances.... Athletics' Tyler Cyr: Picked up by A's
The Athletics claimed Cyr off waivers from the Phillies on Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Las Vegas. Cyr made his MLB debut with the Phillies last weekend before being pushed off the 40-man roster, but since he still has three minor-league options remaining, he'll head to Las Vegas. Prior to getting his brief cup of coffee in Philadelphia, the 29-year-old reliever posted a 2.50 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 37:18 K:BB across 36 innings at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Tyler Cyr: Pushed off 40-man roster
The Phillies designated Cyr for assignment Monday. Just one day after joining the Phillies' 40-man roster and 26-man active roster, he'll cede both spots to fellow reliever Michael Plassmeyer, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Lehigh Valley ahead of Monday's game against the Reds. The 29-year-old Cyr made his MLB debut in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Mets, recording just one out while allowing one earned run on two hits.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Tyler Cyr: Added to big-league bullpen
Cyr had his contract purchased from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Cyr has pitched well with Lehigh Valley this season, maintaining a 2.50 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 36 innings. He'll have the chance to make his big-league debut as a result and will likely mix in as a low-leverage reliever out of the Philadelphia bullpen. The move could indicate that Seranthony Dominguez (triceps) is headed for the injured list, or it could simply be that the Phillies need depth in the bullpen after a doubleheader Saturday.... Phillies' Tyler Cyr: Invited to Phillies camp
Cyr joined the Phillies as a non-roster invitee Tuesday. Cyr is a 28-year-old reliever who's yet to make his big-league debut. His 4.91 ERA with Triple-A Sacramento in the Giants' system last season is unimpressive, though it did at least come with a 31.6 percent strikeout rate.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Tyler Cyr: Hit by comebacker
Cyr limped off the field after getting struck in the leg by a comebacker Monday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports. The exact nature and severity of Cyr's injury are not yet clear. The righty is part of the Giants' 60-man player pool but is not on the 40-man roster, so he's not expected to play a significant role this season.... See More ... See Less
