The outfielder is starting to warm up, going 7-for-15 (.467) over his last four contests following a three-game slump. Overall, Santander is slashing .237/.289/.474 with four home runs, 17 RBI, 10 runs scored and six doubles over 19 contests.... See More ... See Less

Orioles' Anthony Santander: Goes deep Wednesday
Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Twins. Santander has gone 3-for-18 over his last five contests. That's not a great stretch, but so far, he's in little danger of losing playing time as manager Brandon Hyde gets creative to keep Colton Cowser in the lineup. Santander is batting .203 with four homers, 15 RBI, nine runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases through 74 plate appearances as the Orioles' primary right fielder.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Getting breather Monday
Santander is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. It's Santander's turn to sit this time as the Orioles look to keep Colton Cowser's red-hot bat in the lineup. Santander has three home runs in his first 15 contests this season but is sporting just a .576 OPS.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Goes yard in win
Santander went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 9-4 win over the Red Sox. Santander gave the Orioles their first lead of the game with his eighth-inning blast, though Connor Wong tied it for the Red Sox a half-inning later. Santander has hit safely in each of the last four games, going 4-for-18 with four RBI. The 29-year-old is off to a bit of a slow start overall, slashing .216/.226/.431 over 53 plate appearances, but he already has three homers, 13 RBI, six runs scored and two doubles through 12 contests. Santander does not appear to be at risk of losing playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Pops second homer
Santander went 2-for-4 with a three -run home run and an additional run scored during Saturday's 13-4 win against the Angels. The Orioles were already up 9-1 when Santander delivered a three-run shot during the sixth inning, guaranteeing a blowout for the second straight game to begin the campaign. The veteran outfielder is well on his way to pushing for another 30-homer campaign with two long balls and seven RBI through the first two games of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Drives in four
Santander went 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI on Thursday against the Angels. Santander drove in Baltimore's first run of the season on a fielder's choice in the first inning. However, he did his biggest damage three frames later, when he took Jose Suarez yard for a two-run homer -- his first of the season. Santander has hit at least 28 home runs in each of the last two campaigns and should remain an excellent source of counting stats in 2024.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Looking for rhythm at plate
Santander has gone 2-for-14 over his first five Grapefruit League games. Santander has just one strikeout in that span, but there's not many positives to take from that stat line. The outfielder had a career-high 95 RBI while hitting .257 with a .797 OPS and 28 home runs last season. He enters 2024 as the penciled-in starter in right field, though the Orioles have a crop of talented outfield prospects that could push him for playing time if he starts the campaign poorly.... Orioles' Anthony Santander: Settles with O's
Santander signed a one-year, $11.7 million contract with the Orioles on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Santander earned a $4.3 million raise after slashing .257/.325/.472 with 28 homers and 95 RBI across 656 plate appearances last year. Santander's strong bat has allowed him to maintain an everyday spot in Baltimore's lineup. However, his sub-par defense could lead to a tighter leash in 2024 as the Orioles continue to promote prospects to their major-league squad.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Takes seat Friday
Santander is out of the lineup Friday against the Red Sox. Santander hit a solo home run in the Orioles' division-clinching win over the Red Sox on Thursday and will grab some rest Friday as Austin Hays, Cedric Mullins and Heston Kjerstad start across the outfield.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Notches 28th homer
Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Red Sox. Santander got the Orioles on the board early, tagging Chris Sale for a solo shot in the first inning. Though the long ball was Santander's 28th of the season, it was his first since Sept. 6. Despite the power woes, the outfielder has put together a string of quality performances lately, batting 13-for-39 (.333) with nine RBI and five runs scored over his last nine games.... See More ... Santander has a .263/.324/.568 slash line with eight home runs, 21 RBI and 14 runs in 25 games since the start of August.... See More ... See Less -

Santander will undergo precautionary X-rays after exiting Saturday's game versus the Diamondbacks when he was hit on the right hand by a pitch, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Santander has a team-leading 26 home runs for Baltimore, with eight of them coming since the start of August.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Departs following HBP on hand
Santander was lifted from Saturday's game versus the Diamondbacks after being hit on the right hand by a pitch, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. A 94.7 mph cutter thrown by Luis Frias plunked Santander in the top of the ninth inning, and he walked off the field with the athletic trainer and into the clubhouse. It's possible it was a precaution since the Orioles had a late five-run lead at the time, but more information on his condition should be available after the game.... See More ... See Less -
