Yardley agreed to a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.
Yardley will move on to his second organization of the season after the Cubs released him from his minor-league deal earlier this month. The 31-year-old right-hander, who made 17 MLB appearances with the Brewers in 2021, had given up nine earned runs on 12 hits and three walks over 4.2 innings at Triple-A Iowa this season before the Cubs cut him.

Yardley was hit by a shot up the middle during Friday's contest and underwent X-rays following the game. However, the X-rays came back negative, so he appears to have avoided a serious injury. Yardley was not particularly sharp Sunday, hitting a batter and allowing two inherited runners to score and tie the game. However, he did not allow an earned run of his own and found himself in position to grab the win when the Brewers scored the decisive run the next inning. Yardley has already pitched nine times this season, and he has been a steady middle-relief option for the Brewers, allowing just one earned run over 9.1 innings (0.96 ERA) and posting a respectable 1.18 WHIP.
