  • Rays' Jaime Schultz: Exits with leg injury

    Schultz exited Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins with an adductor injury, reports. Schultz entered the game in the ninth inning but managed only three pitches before seeking assistance from a trainer. He has battled the injury for roughly a week but believed he was healthy enough to take the mound. Schultz is in camp on a minor-league deal and has allowed four earned runs across 2.2 innings this spring.

  • Rays' Jaime Schultz: Returns to Rays on NRI deal

    Schultz agreed Wednesday with the Rays on a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to MLB spring training, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Schultz is a former prospect with the Rays who was released by the Mariners in September of 2021 and didn't throw a pitch in 2022 while dealing with an oblique issue. The right-hander has also spent time with the Dodgers and owns a 5.86 ERA in 35.1 innings across 26 career appearances.
