Brewers' Tyler Cravy: Demoted to Triple-A
Cravy was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday.
Cravy was recalled just one day earlier to serve as a long man out of the bullpen Saturday against the Cubs, but it ended up being a moot point after the contest was postponed. With the Brewers needing to open up a roster spot to activate Ryan Braun (calf) from the disabled list Sunday, Cravy was deemed expendable. He'll now resume working in relief at Colorado Springs, where he's compiled a 4.26 ERA and 7.5 K/9 rate in 19 innings this season.

Brewers' Tyler Cravy: Recalled from Triple-A
Cravy was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Saturday.
Cravy will take the roster spot of Paolo Espino, who was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. The 27-year-old held a 4.26 ERA and 1.37 WHIP through 19 innings (14 appearances) with Colorado Springs before earning the promotion. He'll offer the Brewers an extra bullpen arm for the time being, though his time with the big club could be short-lived with Junior Guerra (calf) expected to return to the Brewers soon.

Brewers' Tyler Cravy: Doesn't make Opening Day roster
Cravy was informed Saturday that he won't be on the Brewers' Opening Day roster, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Cravy was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Saturday, though he's unsure if he'll report there. "I'd rather just find a 9-5 job where I get treated like a human at this point," Cravy told McCalvy. The 27-year-old was cut on the last day of spring training last season, as well, so it's a tough break for him. More should be known about his future in the coming days.

Brewers' Tyler Cravy: Will remain with Brewers
Despite serving as the 26th man in Tuesday's doubleheader, Cravy will remain with the Brewers moving forward.
The Brewers need pitching depth at the moment thanks to the doubleheader and the quad injury suffered by starter Chase Anderson in Game 2 Tuesday, so Cravy will remain with the big club, and first baseman Andy Wilkins will head down to Colorado Springs instead.

Cravy was optioned back to Triple-A Colorado Springs after Friday's loss against the Reds, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports. He allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over four innings.
This was fully expected, as Wily Peralta will be back from the paternity list to start Monday in Miami. Cravy doesn't have the fantasy appeal as some other arms in the Brewers' system, but he's been the go-to spot starter in the early going, so he could be back again the next time the Brewers need a starter in a pinch.

Brewers' Tyler Cravy: Called up to start Friday
Cravy was called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday in order to start Friday's game against the Reds, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Cravy will fill the spot in the rotation vacated by Wily Peralta, who was placed on the paternity list Thursday. Peralta is only expected to miss one start, however, so Cravy may only end up spending a couple days with the big league club. The 26-year-old, who has appeared in five games for Milwaukee as a reliever this season, holds a career 5.40 major league ERA across 48.1 cumulative innings.

The Brewers optioned Cravy to Triple-A Colorado Spings following Wednesday's victory over the Twins.
Cravy pitched the final inning in Wednesday's game and allowed one earned run while striking out two batters. Wednesday's appearance was his third in four days, so he likely would have been unavailable for a day or two, prompting the move back to the minors. Cravy gave up just two earned runs over 5.2 innings out of the bullpen in April, so there is a good chance he returns to the big club later this season.

With Matt Garza landing on the disabled list Tuesday due to shoulder soreness, the Brewers recalled one of the more major league-ready arms in their system by bringing Cravy back up from Colorado Springs. Cravy made seven starts last season and took his lumps as a young pitcher, working a 5.70 ERA while being tagged with eight losses. The Brewers may use a four-man rotation for the time being, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, so owners looking to scoop Cravy off the waiver wire may want to exercise some patience until a final decision is made on his role.

Cravy allowed three earned runs in one game this spring, but he turned in a scoreless outing in each of his other five appearances. He worked as a starter for most of last season and started seven games for the Brewers, but unfortunately he has thrown more than one inning just once this spring, so it's clear he is on the outside looking in at a big league rotation spot. He remains in camp with the Brewers, but the team figures to want him to continue working as a starter, which means his season will likely begin with Triple-A Colorado Springs.
