Angels' John Lamb: Outrighted from 40-man roster
Lamb (elbow) was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.
Lamb cleared waivers and was removed from the club's 40-man roster. He only managed to pitch in three big-league games this season before going down with an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery. Lamb is expected to miss a majority of the 2019 campaign while recovering.

Angels' John Lamb: Transferred to 60-day DL
Lamb (elbow) was placed on the 60-day disabled list Friday.
Lamb's season ended due to a torn ulnar collateral ligament requiring Tommy John surgery, so the Angels will move him to the 60-day disabled list. He'll miss the remainder of the 2018 campaign, along with most if not all of the 2019 season.

Angels' John Lamb: Heading for Tommy John surgery
Lamb (elbow) underwent an MRI on his left elbow that showed a torn ulnar collateral ligatment which will require Tommy John surgery.
Lamb landed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with left shoulder and elbow inflammation following Tuesday's start, but the MRI revealed a much grimmer diagnosis. The 27-year-old is now slated to undergo Tommy John surgery, which will cost him the rest of the 2018 season and at least half of 2019.

Angels' John Lamb: Lands on DL
Lamb was placed on the 10-day disabled list with left shoulder and elbow inflammation, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Lamb may have been bothered by the issues during Tuesday's start in Boston, during which he allowed five runs (three earned) across 1.2 innings. The Angels have yet to announce the severity of his injury, but more should be known regarding his status in the coming days. He will be eligible to return from the DL on July 7.

Angels' John Lamb: Can't escape second inning in loss
Lamb (0-1) allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks across just 1.2 innings while taking the loss Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Lamb allowed a solo home run in the first inning and was chased from the game in the second after conceding four more runs on four hits, two walks and an error. The lefty pitched well in his first start of the season earlier this month, but he's since allowed six earned runs over five total innings across his last two outings, lifting his ERA to 7.20. Lamb is currently scheduled to take the ball Sunday against the Orioles, but he'll need to deliver a much improved product if he's to keep his spot in the rotation for the time being.

Angels' John Lamb: Lasts only 3.1 innings
Lamb allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four across 3.1 innings Thursday against the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.
Lamb was hit hard in his short outing, allowing a home run and three doubles despite facing only 17 batters. He has allowed 1.7 HR/9 across 124.2 career innings, pushing his ERA to an unsightly 6.06 mark. That track record limits his relevance to exceptionally deep leagues.

Angels' John Lamb: Surprise starter Thursday
Lamb will start Thursday against the Blue Jays, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
Lamb was originally scheduled to start Friday before Thursday's starter, Tyler Skaggs, was scratched just hours before first pitch with hamstring tightness. Thanks to an off day Wednesday, Lamb will be on regular rest. The 27-year-old allowed two runs across five innings while striking out five in his first start of the season.

Angels' John Lamb: Tosses five strong innings in season debut
Lamb didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Athletics, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out five.
Lamb served up solo homers to Chad Pinder and Marcus Semien, but otherwise it was a solid 2018 big-league debut for the southpaw. He actually left the game in position to win before Noe Ramirez allowed the A's to score three runs and take the lead in the sixth inning. While nothing has been confirmed yet, Lamb should be afforded at least one more turn in the rotation as the Angels try to make do with multiple starters on the disabled list. The 27-year-old would likely face the Blue Jays at home if he's given another start.

Angels' John Lamb: Called up and starting Saturday
Lamb was called up as expected Saturday and will take the mound against Oakland, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
The southpaw will make his first big-league appearance since 2016. In 24 career major-league starts, the 27-year-old has a 6.17 ERA. He'll square off against Sean Manaea and the Athletics on Saturday.

Lamb is scheduled to start Saturday for the Angels, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Expect a roster move to be made following Friday night's contest with the Athletics. Lamb owns a 3.44 ERA with 54 strikeouts over 49.2 innings for Triple-A Salt Lake and has been a strikeout machine throughout his minor league career. Given the myriad of injuries in the Angels starting rotation, this might well be Lamb's best chance to prove he belongs in the majors.

Angels' John Lamb: Minors deal with Angels
Lamb signed a minor-league deal with the Angels, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
The 27-year-old lefty spent 2017 suspended for 50 games (drug of abuse) and then finished the campaign logging 13 starts for the Angels' Triple-A affiliate. He notched an unimpressive 5.37 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 48:26 K:BB in 70.1 innings, and can be left alone for now in most fantasy formats. Look for him to spend most, if not all of 2018 back at Triple-A.

Angels' John Lamb: Reinstated from suspension
Lamb has made two starts for Triple-A Salt Lake since completing a 50-game suspension for a second positive test for a drug of abuse, covering 10 innings and giving up four runs on nine hits and six walks.
Lamb had been recovering from back surgery to begin the season before he was hit with the suspension in May, but now that he's healthy again, he'll try to resurrect a once-promising career in the upper minors. The lefty isn't a member of the Angels' 40-man roster, so he'll likely need to curb the walks and show an uptick in velocity if he hopes to resurface in the big leagues before 2017 draws to a close.

Lamb hasn't pitched in the minors this year after undergoing offseason back surgery, and it looks like he'll have to wait even longer now. The 26-year-old has seen time in the majors over the last two seasons, though he posted a combined 6.17 ERA across 119.2 innings with the Reds.

Lamb will begin a throwing program in the near future after being cleared by Dr. Robert Watkins. The southpaw hasn't thrown since undergoing offseason surgery on his back in October, so it will likely be a while before he's able to return to game action.

Lamb (back) is eyeing a return near the All-Star break, according to the Orange County Register.
The Angels signed Lamb this offseason knowing he would have to miss some time after undergoing back surgery last October. The southpaw didn't fair well with the Reds last season, posting a 6.43 ERA in 70 innings. He does posses the ability to strike batters out (8.72 K/9), which is likely what enticed the Angels to sign the 26-year-old. Even with his poor ERA totals, the pitching-deficient Angels will likely give Lamb a look once he is fully rehabbed.

Angels' John Lamb: Inks deal with Angels
Lamb (back) signed a minor league deal with the Angels on Friday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Lamb was traded to the Rays earlier in the offseason but was released just two weeks later, and will now land in the Angels' organization. The 26-year-old underwent back surgery in October and is expected to miss the beginning of the season and he'll likely need a few rehab starts under his belt once healthy, so it's a bit unclear when he'll get a chance to help out in the Los Angeles pitching staff. He posted a 5.80 ERA in 2015 and a 6.43 mark last season though, so a major league roster spot isn't guaranteed even when he is healthy.

John Lamb: Released by Tampa Bay
Lamb (back) was released by the Rays on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The Rays acquired Lamb from Cincinnati earlier this month in exchange for cash considerations, but ultimately they decided that 40-man spot would be better used protecting a young player from the Rule 5 draft. Lamb underwent surgery to repair a lumbar disc herniation in his back in October and he is not expected to be ready to begin the 2017 season.

Rays' John Lamb: To start season on DL
Lamb (back) will begin the season on the disabled list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The recently acquired Lamb had back surgery early in the offseason, and his recovery timetable is expected to last into the season. Lamb, a 26-year-old lefty, split time between two levels last season and notched a 6.43 ERA over 14 starts with the Reds. Topkin notes that Lamb could be an addition to the Rays' rotation once he comes off the disabled list.
