  • Lefty Drew Pomeranz, who hopes to make the Colorado rotation, departed his Tuesday start with tightness in his hip. Although the injury isn't believed to be serious, his next start could be pushed back. [Denver Post]

  • Good news for Royals backers, as young stars Eric Hosmer (jammed shoulder) and Mike Moustakas (knee contusion) aren't seriously injured. Hosmer was back in the lineup on Tuesday, and Moustakas should be ready to return by the end of the week. [MLB.com]

  • Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts, in his long and trying comeback from post-concussion syndrome, took a big step on Tuesday as he was able to bat from both sides of the plate and field a few ground balls at his position.
