Some injury notes for Tuesday night:

  • Brian Roberts is headed back to the disabled list with a strained groin, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reported. He played 17 games for Baltimore after making his return and hit just .182/.233/.182.
  • Xavier Avery will return to the Orioles and take Roberts's roster spot, Ghiroli adds. Avery gives the Orioles some more outfield depth but had just a .661 OPS in his first stint with the club this year.
  • Ramon Hernandez is ready to start a rehab assignment, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports. Hernandez will head to Triple-A Colorado Springs either Wednesday or Thursday. Wilin Rosario is now up to 14 home runs and Hernandez mustered just a .215 average and .260 OBP in his first 27 games in Colorado, so Hernandez may have to settle for backup duty upon his return.
