<img alt= shortstop Troy Tulowitzki left Monday night's game in San Francisco after being hit in the knee by a foul ball. X-rays were negative and the team is calling the injury a deep bruise of the fibula.

"When I went to the on-deck circle, I was sure it was because I couldn’t feel anything," Tulowitzki told Troy Renck of the Denver Post. "I guess you have a nerve in there like the elbow and that’s what caused it to go numb. I know I am going to be really sore tomorrow. I don’t know after that. I am not a doctor. But I am glad that it’s not worse."

He attempted to stay in the game and even singled after being hit, but as he struggled to get to first, Colorado manager Jim Tracey checked on his star and took him out of the game.

Tulowitzki was standing in the dugout, waiting to go to the on-deck circle when Dexter Fowler's foul ball went into the Rockies' dugout and hit Tulowitzki in the left knee. Tulowitzki said he never saw the ball and initially thought his leg was broken, he told Renck. Tulowitzki said he will likely miss a few days.

Tulowitzki hit a chopper to short and limped to first and was then replaced by Chris Nelson.
