Troy TulowitzkiRockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has suffered a strained left groin and will miss at least the next handful of games and could wind up on the disabled list, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.

Tulowitzki injured himself in the sixth inning of Wednesday night's win over the Astros while running out a ground ball and was forced to exit the game. “I will see how it feels tomorrow," Tulowitzki said. "If it’s still really sore, then maybe I need an MRI and it’s a DL situation. Obviously, I am going to miss a few days at least. I want to stay off the DL. But if I can’t go, I can’t go.”

Tulowitzki is hitting .287/.360/.486 on the season, and he's been especially productive of late.

Renck notes that infielder Chris Nelson is eligible to return from the DL on Thursday, so he would be the likely replacement should Tulowitzki require deactivation.
