Triple Crown

Can Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera become the first player since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 to win the Triple Crown (i.e., lead his league in batting average, home runs and RBI)? He's on pace to do just that, so let's see where things stand for Monday ...

Tonight, Cabrera's Tigers will host the Royals and starter Luke Hochevar. For his career, Cabrera is hitting .335/.413/.611 in Comerica Park, .334/.389./.553 against Kansas City and .500/.529/.813 against Hochevar (34 career plate appearances). To the big board ...

Batting Average

1. Cabrera, .331
2. Mike Trout, .323

Trout and the Angels are off on Monday. Cabrera's main competition for AL MVP honors is batting "just" .306 since the break.

Home Runs

1. Cabrera; Josh Hamilton, 42

The Rangers host the A's on Monday night with Josh Hamilton in the lineup for the first time since Sept. 18.

RBI

1. Cabrera, 133
2. Hamilton, 123

See above. No chance Hamilton catches him.
