Mets third baseman David Wright will miss a week of spring training games with his oblique injury, manager Terry Collins told reporters.Wright took grounders on Saturday, but didn't throw. Collins said Wright still hasn't "done anything full speed yet."
A team doctor is scheduled to visit the team's camp this week and Wright will be examined again. [New York Times]
• Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran is still suffering from flu-like symptoms, but manager Mike Matheny said Beltran could DH as soon as Monday. Beltran has played in just one game this spring. [St. Louis Post-Dispatch]
• Nationals center fielder Rick Ankiel was scratched from Saturday's game with a tight hamstring. He was scheduled to DH, but still couldn't go. He hurt the hamstring on Friday against the Marlins. The team says he's "day-to-day." [MLB.com]
• Giants closer Brian Wilson will make his spring debut on Sunday against the Mariners. Wilson's right elbow bothered him most of last year and into the winter. [San Jose Mercury News]
• Pirates starter A.J. Burnett returned to Pirates camp on Saturday, a little more than a week after undergoing surgery to repair his broken orbital bone. He said he'd been cleared to resume workouts. [Pittsburgh Tribune-Review]
• Rangers catcher Mike Napoli was scratched from Saturday's game with soreness in his left groin, though the team said it was "very mild." He's expected to play on Sunday. Outfielder Connor Jackson didn't suffer a concussion after being hit in the head by a fly ball on Friday, doctors said. He did need five stitches to close the cut on his left brow. • Brewers right-hander Shaun Marcum has started throwing again after being shut down earlier in the week. He's dealt with soreness in his right shoulder. He was troubled by the same thing last spring. [Milwaukee Journal Sentinel]
• Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier was scratched from the team's game with the Mariners on Saturday after suffering from mid-back stiffness. He had a similar injury earlier in the spring. He was already scheduled to sit out Sunday's game, and will stick to that plan. [Los Angeles Daily News]
• Rays starter David Price said his neck feels "almost normal," moving his scheduled bullpen from Saturday to Sunday. Price hurt his neck earlier this week when wiping himself off with a towel. [Tampa Tribune]
• Braves reliever Arodys Vizcaino has inflammation in the ulnar collateral ligament of his pitching elbow. He partially tore the ligament in 2010, but didn't undergo surgery. According to manager Fredi Gonzalez, an MRI showed no structural damage to the ligament, but he will be evaluated by a specialist on Monday. The team won't rush the 21-year-old back, despite the fact he is competing for a spot in the team's bullepn. [Atlanta Journal-Constitution]
• Brewers reliever Brandon Kintzler will have an X-ray on his right (throwing) arm to see if the pain he felt Friday is related to a screw placed in his forearm last July in an attempt to address a stress fracture. [Milwaukee Journal Sentinel]
• Red Sox right hander Daisuke Matsuzaka got good reviews from his Saturday bullpen session, throwing 40 pitches in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Pitching coach Bob McClure said Matsuzaka looked good, but didn't want to rush him back. [Providence Journal]
