The Kansas Stars have just added a future Hall of Famer to their roster.
Chipper Jones announced Monday night he is joining many other former big-leaguers in the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita next month.

Chipper joins Roger Clemens, Josh Beckett, J.D. Drew, Adam LaRoche and many other former MLB players on the roster. The players will not be paid and they're planning to donate any winnings to charity.
The ex-MLB team came about after LaRoche, a Wichita native, called some former teammates to gauge interest in putting a club together. It took off from there. Chipper gives the Kansas Stars a dozen former MLB All-Stars.
Needless to say, folks with the NBC World Series are pretty thrilled to have Chipper and the other ex-MLB players coming to town.

The Kansas Stars will play their first game on Aug. 8. The NBC consists of 15 amateur and semi-pro league in the U.S. and Canada. Their annual World Series has been played at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita since 1935. The park holds 6,400 fans.
