The Dodgers are telling teams shortstop Dee Gordon is available, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
After a strong debut in 2011, the 24-year-old Gordon failed to live up to expectations this past season. Gordon hit just .228/.280/.281 in 330 plate appearances with the Dodgers in 2012. He missed just a little over two months after tearing a ligament in his thumb. Shortly after Gordon suffered the injury, the team acquired Hanley Ramirez from the Marlins. Gordon returned to the team in mid-September, but was relegated to a backup role.
Earlier in the offseason, manager Don Mattingly indicated the team would move forward with Ramirez at short and Luis Cruz at third. As Nightengale mentioned, Gordon would likely draw interest from teams that lose out on Stephen Drew.
