The Reds have activated catcher Devin Mesoraco off the 7-day concussion DL and optioned catcher Dioner Navarro to Triple-A Louisville, the club announced Thursday.

Mesoraco went on the disabled list with the concussion Aug. 1, the same day he was suspended three games for his actions in a confrontation with umpire Chad Fairchild. Mesoraco is currently appealing the suspension.

Navarro played in four games for the Reds in Mesoraco's absence, with a home run serving as his only hit in 10 plate appearances. He could possibly return to the majors if MLB upholds Mesoraco's suspension.
