The Red Sox will receive pitcher Pedro Beato from the Mets to complete the Kelly Shoppach deal, according to ESPN.com’s Keith Law.

Boston dealt Shoppach to the Mets on Tuesday for a player to be named later. Beato is a former first-round draft pick by the Orioles. He was rated 99 on Baseball America’s top prospect list in 2007. Following two seasons of below-average production, the Mets grabbed Beato in the Rule-5 draft.

Beato made his major-league debut with the Mets in 2011, and has pitched 71.1 innings in the majors over his career. This season, the 25-year-old Beato has a 4.14 ERA in 37.0 innings in Triple-A. He is scheduled to report to Boston’s Triple-A affiliate in Pawtucket.
