The Rays are considering bringing back pitcher Kyle Farnsworth and DH Luke Scott, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. The team’s interest in both players was initially reported by Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times

The 36-year-old Farnsworth had a resurgent year with the team in 2011, but was limited by injuries in 2012. He lost his closer role to Fernando Rodney, who had a fantastic season with Farnsworth injured. Farnsworth made $3.3 million last year.

Scott, 34, had 344 plate appearances with the Rays last season, hitting .229/.285/.439. Both the team and Scott have mutual interest in a return. Scott made $5 million last year.
