The Giants purchased the contract of reliever Ramon Ramirez from Triple-A Fresno Wednesday, sending down pitcher Michael Kickham to make room on the active roster. A 40-man roster move is expected to come later.
Ramirez last appeared in the majors with the Mets last season, posting a 4.24 ERA in 58 games. He was 2-1 with a 3.46 ERA at Fresno prior to the call up.
