Mets reliever Pedro Feliciano is sidelined for the time being after a hole was discovered in his heart. Fortunately, his condition isn't quite as serious as it sounds.

ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports the small hole is located on the exterior of Feliciano's heart and, according to Feliciano, the condition is not life-threatening. Feliciano also tells Rubin surgery was not discussed. Marc Carig of Newsday adds that Feliciano's condition was discovered after he suffered an irregular heartbeat. Carig adds that Feliciano will wear a heart monitor for the time being.

The 36-year-old lefty is attempting to return to the majors for the first time since 2010. He owns a 3.31 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across parts of eight major-league seasons.
